I love this. The editing is a bit annoying with all the close ups of them pulling faces, but I do enjoy seeing chefs actually cooking. And their terrified looks at the prospect of Marcus Wareing Grin. This is not the effect he has on me Wink.

How on earth did Maryann get this far? The judges clearly didn't like her umpteen ways with mackerel first course.

Raahh · 30/05/2014 20:04

Angela didn't really seem to like any of her recipes all week- so I am still baffled she got to the end of the week.

Oodlives · 01/06/2014 19:07

I did think Maryann's kitchen looked better than last series!

She's just so set in her ways and doesn't change things if she doesn't want to. According to her bio she started cooking as she was a waitress and the chef didn't show.

Raahh · 02/06/2014 19:30

Darn it- didn't realise it was on at 7- good thing it is recorded.

Oodlives · 04/06/2014 20:23

We are catching up on iplayer. Only part through Monday so far

Idontknowhowtohelpher · 05/06/2014 09:15

I like the chefs judging each other! and when they are so certain what the judges will like - but are totally wrong Grin. I also am impressed by their appreciation of the others' cooking.

Raahh · 05/06/2014 19:30

The chefs scoring each other is really funny- you can tell the ones who feel threatened, they really mark down ones that everyone else likes. It all feels a bit tacticalGrin

StepfauxWife · 05/06/2014 20:10

Just catching up on the main course - Baroness Trumpington should be a regular judge! Hilarious.

FiveFingerDeathPunch · 05/06/2014 22:34

I am so glad the nice guy got his pudding through(The dickens medal)

MsJupiter · 06/06/2014 00:42

I think the dickens medal guy had the best fish course too but they couldn't put both through.

I really like Emily but I was surprised they chose her fish course as it was another 'pouring broth' type dish like the starter.

I've enjoyed this year's GBB. I must confess I haven't watched every day but always watch the Friday programme.

Really look forward to seeing the banquet this evening, I just hope all the judges can reproduce their dishes for large numbers in good time.

Raahh · 06/06/2014 20:03

Makes me laugh how every year, they plan these elaborate banquets- and the facilities to actually cook in, are never fit for the jobGrin

I know this adds to drama, thoughGrin

I love St. Paul's

DinoSnores · 06/06/2014 21:54

I enjoyed it this evening, especially I know one of the veterans there. I'll have to find out what he thought of the food and the evening!

As an aside, as an interesting fact, Emily will become Baroness Killearn at some point as her husband is the heir to the title of Baron Killearn! I thought she really grew in confidence from feeling a bit out of her depth, which was lovely to see.

Raahh · 06/06/2014 21:59

I really liked Emily- and it was great to see her do so well, after Sat Bains was really not that positive about her to start with in the regionals.
