Well I know you wouldn't knife me if you were a mad axe murderer cos you'd be using an axe. Simples :)

Dh is making burgers for tea tonight but after my fruitless shopping trip I don't know if I ever should eat again (said as I guzzle popcorn). I'm definitely going back to gym when dc back at school. How have you damaged your calf? Not swimming?

Only going til Friday - but flight home on Friday isn't til 6ish so we will have some time to explore.

What are you two like? I go off to work and you end up trying to knife each other.

I have worked far too hard today and then ended up on a magical mystery bus tour trying to get to tescos. Ended up pretty much back where I started and having to walk. Could have saved myself quite a lot of time if I'd just done that in the first place. Am wiped out now.

JuanPotatoTwo · 15/04/2014 23:39

Not me Clay, I wouldn't harm a fly (unless it landed on muddled - then I'd have to swat it into next week) Grin.

Oh dear, all that hassle just to get to Tescos. Hope you rewarded yourself by throwing some nice treats into your basket.

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 16/04/2014 16:03

Sadly not. Am now on holiday for a week though so can't complain too much. As much as I love where I live now, Guernsey stunningly beautiful when the sun is out so I have definitely chosen a good week to come home. There is't anywhere else like it.

Enjoy the tennis. You will have a great time.

Arghhh! Dogs has lost!Sad

But Rafa is through VAMOS , and Stan- who comprehensively beat Cilic. I have a soft spot for Cilic.

Pretty solid win for Rafa - to win his 300th match on clay.

He's playing Ferrer next though- Vamos to bother, but mainly Rafa

Yay stan through to semi finals...unless major upset and Rafa having a bad day then will be repeat of the Oz final.....wonder how it will go this time? Vamos Grin. Shame I can't watch any of it Sad but then I would not get anything done today. must clean house

purpleprincess · 18/04/2014 13:48

Sorry everyone. Looks like I jinxed Rafa who apparently is playing like a wet weekend in Cleethorpes (not my words). Shock. Would be good for Stan perhaps as I think he might play better against Ferrer and of course Fed and Djoko will be rubbing their hands together.

Is no one else around this weekend?

Ooh he's just broken serve so its not over yet.....

purpleprincess · 18/04/2014 13:54

Sad Shock

Mama1980 · 18/04/2014 16:45

MakeMineAMartina · 18/04/2014 16:50

I read Federer might miss the French open as its the time his wife will be due the baby.
How sweet is that?

Raahh · 18/04/2014 18:20

Just got in and seen this.

Sad Rafa

Sad

I don't want Djoko to win the tournament. Vamos Ferrer

Djokovic/Garcia Lopez match is really tight, they are both playing great.

purpleprincess · 18/04/2014 19:36

As expected Djoko won in the end although dropped first set......

Allen Stan Grin hope he gets to the final!

magimedi · 18/04/2014 22:00

Allez Stan!!

Pesky Juan - we are waiting to hear from you!

GTF on your phone & send us reports - NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Raahh · 19/04/2014 17:43

Sad for Ferrer, although i do like Stan- good win for Federer though, over Djoko.

It really depends which Federer turns up now, as to who wins the final. I've a feeling Stan could win it- but if Federer carries on as he has been, could be a close one.

Hi folks, surprised Fed beat Djok in Djok's manor, only two sets as well.

Had an utterly fabulous time :). Turned up at the tournie on Thurs, presented tickets - only to find out they were for Friday Blush. Was really embarrassed but we ended up having a lovely day, walking along the front past the casino, having lunch in the harbour looking at the supersize yachts, doing a spot of shopping (well, more a spot of window shopping and "look at the price of this" shopping).

My old school friend met us at the hotel on Thursday night for drinks, and took us out to dinner (I think it would be only honest of me to say here that I had significantly more drinks than ds1 or school friend - for the nerves you know). He also gave us passes for the VIP village in the tennis, and tickets to this luxury car show that was on in town (which unfortunately we didn't have time to go to).

So yesterday - saw Wawrinka v Raonic - I wanted Stan to win but have changed my mind about Milos. Have forgiven him for cheating against Pot now and felt r sorry for him yesterday - there was virtually no crowd support for him. Then saw Rafa v Ferrer. I know Rafa didn't play too well, but this match was like something out of a higher quality tournie than the previous one. The power and doggedness from both was utterly breathtaking. The atmosphere was thrilling too - surprisingly, plenty of support for both men, lots of cheering, feet being drummed on metal floor of the stands, gasping etc. Ferrer deserved to win that, totally.

We decided that we would have to miss the beginning of Fed v Tsonga in order to go to VIP village so off we went. First people we saw were Stan and a woman posing for pics. Then some bloke walked past me carrying racquets. Ds1 said "that was Cilic". I said, "What? Where? Why didn't you tell me?". Turned round to look and Goran was walking past me. :0. He looked better than ever. Had drinks and returned for sets 2 and 3 of Fed v Tsonga. I was miffed it went to 3 because it meant we had to leave for the airport before Djok v Garcia-Lopez, but as ds1 reminded me, we had just spent the better part of the day in Monte Carlo watching world class players and I should count myself lucky. Yeah alright mate, you're definitely your father's son!

So final celeb sighting was when Rory McIlroy jogged past us just as we were getting in taxi to airport. I had no lue who he was til ds1 pointed him out. Oh not quite final - there was a loud annoying girl on plane in front of me on way home. Ds and I were sat separately and he told me later that she had been a contestant on Big Brother about 5 years ago. How on earth he remembered that I have no idea - he def hasn't inherited my face recognition abilities, of rather, total lack of them.

Back in real world now of catching up on washing and cleaning. :)

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 19/04/2014 18:26

Sounds like you had an amazing time. Think you did the same thing with the tickets we did in Istanbul last year. Glad it worked out OK in the end though.

Even if we do know it was you and not purple princess that jinxed Rafa yesterday. Grin

Raahh · 19/04/2014 19:10

You saw GoranEnvy

For years, I didn't see the appeal of him. But oh, now. I sooooooo would. Blush

OP posts:
JuanPotatoTwo · 19/04/2014 19:29

It might have been me Clay, yes! I was torn as to who to support and came down on the side of the better player - who yesterday was Ferrer. Sorry :). Are you actually in Guernsey now? Is the weather nice?

I did see Goran Raahh, he didn't see me though somehow! Are you feeling any better?

I want Stan to win but not sure if he can do it. Fed's confidence seems pretty high at the moment. Martina, I think Fed said something along the lines of he'd see how things played out, but if the birth did happen to be during the FO then he would attend (the birth). He said there would be more matches and more tournaments so his priority was the babies. I'll have a look for the article.
