First set to Thiem.

JuanPotatoTwo · 13/04/2014 17:31

Am watching Octopussy. Remember Vijay Armritaj :)

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 13/04/2014 17:42

I saw him and someone else play against Bahrami and Laconte a Wimbledon a few years ago.

JuanPotatoTwo · 13/04/2014 18:02

Not looking good for Dom. One set all and down a break in third.

You saw Vijay? He was a charmer if I remember rightly.

JuanPotatoTwo · 13/04/2014 18:25

Mahut wins :(. I see Sheffield got beat too - Dh will be upset. This film (Octopussy) is utter shite.

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 13/04/2014 19:46

Yes. Can't for the life of me remember who the fourth guy was. Was Bahrami and Laconte vs Amritaj and someone else in Senior invitation doubles. Was very very funny.

JuanPotatoTwo · 13/04/2014 21:08

Dh has just suggested that if I can get tickets for the tennis i should go, with ds1 and ds2 to Monte Carlo. :0. Don't you have to be young, beautiful and thin to go there? I think it may be the law. And rich? Ooh, I'm all of a tizzy. What shall I do fellow fans?

Raahh · 13/04/2014 21:14

GO!!!!!!

GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Can't believe you even need to ask on here? Grin

JuanPotatoTwo · 13/04/2014 21:31

Really? Seems so indulgent but I would like to go. Wish some of you tennis loving folks could come too. There are tickets available for Thursday but Id have to look into accommodation and flights too. But what shall I wear?! I've posted on S & B. I'm too old for such a flurry of excitement.

Talking of excitement - Dh and the boys saw Mark from The Chase at the footie!

magimedi · 14/04/2014 10:05

GO!!!

Doesn't matter what you wear, really Pesky!

PS Your DH sounds lovely.

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 14/04/2014 19:20

Yes, no one will mind what you are wearing.

Monte Carlo's a bit out of my price range I'm afraid. Might consider somewhere a bit more local at some point in the year.

JuanPotatoTwo · 14/04/2014 20:55

It's all booked :0. I have bought new sunglasses and lippy. OMG. And Pot's not even there.

Raahh · 14/04/2014 21:11

Juan you lucky, lucky, lucky thing! Envy

I have been to Monte Carlo (not to the tennis, unfortunately) and it's a fabulous place. I hope you have a wonderful time.

I keep getting emails inviting me to enter the draw for tickets to Queen's Club in June. I went one year with DS3 and we had a great weekend. Unfortunately, with the boys the age they are early June always seems to coincide with exams, so I can't go. Maybe next year...

Raahh · 14/04/2014 21:17

right- who nicked my Envy

OP posts:
HarveySchlumpfenburger · 14/04/2014 21:20

It might have been the same person who nicked your strike out Grin

At least you didn't do what I did upthread and type [green].

I'm thinking maybe Queen's or Eastbourne or ground pass to Wimbledon DramaAlpaca.

JuanPotatoTwo · 14/04/2014 21:28

Thank you so much all. I feel very very lucky. I only wish we could have a thread outing there, it would be so much fun. I never thought this would happen - I wanted it to but thought perhaps in a few years when the dc were a bit more settled. Anyway, I will be the eyes and ears of the thread (actually, considering the state of my eyesight and hearing I'd better delegate to ds1!) and see if I can get some pics.

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 14/04/2014 21:46

I dread to think what would happen on a thread outing to Monte Carlo. You and magi would be fighting over potato and the rest of us would be embarrassing ourselves yelling stuff like 'Come on Dogsbollocks!!'

Raahh · 14/04/2014 21:52

Rafa Grin

magimedi · 14/04/2014 22:47

Oi!! Rafa - I would not be fighting, because all I would have to do is enter the arena & be crowned the victor. I might crush Pesky with my stiletto, however - just to give you all something to talk about.

But I am not jellus of a trip to Monte - no, no not at all!

(Much Envy )

JuanPotatoTwo · 15/04/2014 10:34

Hah, take more than a stiletto to crush me muddled!

I'm bricking it - I've done something reckless. When I knew I was def going tomorrow I txt my best friend from school to tell her. She told me that her first boyfriend now lives and works in MC. He was a friend of mine too, we were all part of the same group. Anyway she found his website so I sent him an email last night telling him I was going to be there. I haven't seen/spoken to him for nearly thirty years. Bloody hell - only got a reply this morning suggesting we meet for a drink tomorrow night. He included a pic of himself and his dc - they're stunning and he has aged a lot better than I have. What am I doing?!! I'll have nothing to say to him after all this time. And I'm fat and old. He looks the same and seems to be fabulously rich. HELP!

magimedi · 15/04/2014 13:15

I meant my stiletto dagger, of course, Pesky!!

Have a wonderful time - am sure you are not fat & if you are so what? Stop worrying about it!

Just be as polite to him as you are to me & you'll be fine!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

JuanPotatoTwo · 15/04/2014 16:40

Even you wouldn't knife me muddled. Pot would fling himself on my dying body (almost worth dying for) and would glare at you with hate and revenge in his eyes. And then he'd throw himself to the ground, give up tennis and become a recluse.

Anyway, back in the real world - I went to town again, tried to take back a top I bought yesterday but couldn't, bought some shoes that I loved but which didn't fit, tried on a whole load of clothes which didn't fit, took back the shoes I'd just bought, had a nervous breakdown and came home. What you lot been up to?

magimedi · 15/04/2014 17:36

How do you know I wouldn't knife you? For all you know I could be an axe murderer!!!!!!!!!!!

I was a paragon & did my Tesco's shop at 8.15am!! Wonderful - avoided al lthe rush & hope I don't have to go again until after Easter!

Ithen had physio on my calf injury & am now signed off - on the condition I do my exercises. It also involves some accupuncture which makes me feel v sleepy so had a short zzzzz after lunch, did some weeding & read my book.

Chicken salad for supper - with oven chips (big treat!). I am hungry!

Looking forward to all your Tennis reports tomorrow - how long are you going for?
