couldn't hear tv due to the kids making noise - but I think she said she not getting jobs because of a criminal record, not sure why the other half is out of work?
from experience of living on benefits, when my washing machine died I did not have £300-400 in one lump to pay out for a machine so had to get a loan. no one will credit you on benefits so it has to be door stop lenders. to whom im paying of double what I borrowed.
I tried to get it on credit from argos but was declined, its hard to find that much money. same as when the bunk beds broke, I had to ask for a budget loan. I don't feel proud, I feel ashamed.
I had to wash my kids uniform and I wasn't goin t let them sleep on the floor so I had no choice to borrow money and get into debt.
but yes, £260 is sufficient but not on the week your house appliance dies.
its not a dig, its a view of how people get themselves into this mess.
