Prob been done before as Friends is like a guzzillion years old now but the other day I saw the one where Estelle dies.

AFAIK Phoebe never met or spoke to Estelle so how did she know how she sounded? also, Joeys phone would have had Phoebes name on the caller ID.

Yes its a Saturday night and theres nothing on tv!

loadsa moments. anyone get bugbeared or just think 'its only a programme' and just enjoy it?
its a terrible habit of mine to nitpick!

The other thing that always bothers me is the episode where Ross/Rachel they discuss how many people they have slept with and Rachel gives a smallish number which Ross must know isn't true.

GossamerHailfilter · 27/02/2014 12:27

And dont get me started on the Ross still seeing his Paediatricain nonsense.

And doesn't Rachel have Emma's paediatrician's home phone number in one episode? The one where she rings to shout 'Weiner' down the phone.

EffieTheElephant · 27/02/2014 12:33

Rachel's ultrasound is done entirely on computer by someone at a desk about 2 meters away from her and doesn't touch her once

It was an early (8 week?) Trans-vaginal scan which is why Rachel had a gown on and her legs in stirrups and kept telling Ross to stay by her head - but they were hardly going to show the sonographer doing the scan like that Grin

katese11 · 27/02/2014 12:46

Oh, so many...mainly where they've screwed up the backstory was the sake of a one-liner. Like when Joey said Angela DeVecchio (?) never had a birthday while they were together and Chandler said "for three years?" How does a 3-year relationship fit with all the other times it's been established that Joey's never had a long-term relationship?

Ross' sexual history being rewritten has always bugged me, and the nonsensical flashbacks. And the bit where Janice says "So, who out of the 6 of you has slept with who out of the 6 of you?" and Ross says no-one, even though he's going out with Rachel at the time.

And don't get me started on the OTT physical affection between Ross and Monica!! I never sit on my brother's lap!

dreamygirl · 27/02/2014 12:49

I think you must be able to get ordained, or at least register in some official capacity to perform marriages, via Internet in parts of the US - I have seen it in other films and TV as well so I assume it must be A Thing, otherwise wouldn't people object to it keeping on happening?

KiBe · 27/02/2014 13:40

Monica and Rachel trick or treated together so I think they were friends enough

AlansLeftMoob · 27/02/2014 13:45

Katese11 The Ross/Monica relationship really drives me mad!! Rachel had such a problem with that guy who was over-close to his sister, as did the rest (until the competitive wrestling) but Ross picking his sister's sex clothes, the line where Monica says she was just inspecting the shower head.......uggggghhhhhh

I hated Gary. With a fiery passion. That scene where he interrogates Phoebe (Brooklyn Heights, Brooklyn Heights, Brooklyn Heights) makes me want to reach in to the screen and kill him.

Also, I've always wondered if Frank Jr. Jr. was still meant to be Phoebe's brother in "The one with the Baby on the Bus" or just some random stranger, leading to the notion that you could actually walk past a long-lost relative and not remember it years after? Would she not look at him and think - ohmigod, I met you years ago when you threw a condom into my guitar case?

Also that beam in the apartment that Monica banged Ben's head off, where did it go? Am I mad or was it not that prominent in later Seasons?

The thanksgiving one where they go to the baby beauty pageant - that outfit belonging to Alisha May Emery would NOT HAVE FIT EMMA, EVER.

TOW Where they all Turn 30. OMG RACHEL'S WIG. Especially in the part where they're trying to move Ross' sportscar. It's blatantly obvious that it's a wig and considering the iconic nature of Rachel's haircuts over the course of the show, I thought it was really poor quality.

Ross hates ice-cream but he and Elizabeth go out FOR ICE CREAM.

Chandler can't take a photo without making a face, but when he and Ross go to recreate all the missing wedding photos, he doesn't make that face once.

In TOW the Prom Video, when they watch the part where the girls are getting ready for the prom, Chandler is horrible about Monica's size which is unecessary because he knew her back then.

Where did the duck go? Did he die after eating Rachel's face cream?

Monica got the call from the adoption agency on Thanksgiving. Are they all open on Thanksgiving?!

I may have watched the boxsets a few times....

somedizzywhore1804 · 27/02/2014 13:59

Sadly I know the answer to the beam that's been brought up a few times....

....it was part of the original set but it kept casting weird shadows on the set so they got rid of it.

I have no idea how I know that but that's where it went.

Anonymai · 27/02/2014 15:36

This thread has now RUINED friends for me. RUINED I tell you.

SweetPenelope · 27/02/2014 19:31

Phoebe supposedly grew up "on the streets" or with her grandmother and didn't go to school much yet speaks French.

StealthPolarBear · 27/02/2014 19:34

I didnt think she grew up on the streets I thought she was there as a young adult.

curiousgeorgie · 27/02/2014 19:35

And didn't she say she and 3 friends used to meet behind a dumpster to learn French? Smile

LetZygonsbeZygons · 27/02/2014 20:11

Anonymai Grin.

everythings ruined for me as im so nitpicky:

Star wars/star trek/Frasier/Doctor Who etc etc etc.

The one where Central Perk is a bar is a 'what could have happened' episode so I dont think that counts.

It wasn't, it was the one about the times they nearly slept together. It was "real" history.

Ellenora5 · 27/02/2014 20:43

It used to be a bar and then it was changed to a coffee shop, they mention it in the episode Nugget is talking about I think.

Bluerobot · 27/02/2014 21:05

The actress who played Estelle also played the midwife who delivered Carol's baby.

NuggetofPurestGreen · 27/02/2014 21:26

Yeah the bar is in that episode Ellenora they have drinks there and Monica says 'did you hear they're changing it to a coffee shop, where are we going to hang out now?' Grin

NuggetofPurestGreen · 27/02/2014 21:27

Although if they changed my local pub into a coffee shop I'd find another pub not just give up booze! Grin

NickNacks · 27/02/2014 21:36

Ok this has always bothered me...

In the flashback one you are all talking about Ross finds out Carol is a lesbian and Rachel's friend toasts 'In one year from today..,,'

So how come in the pilot episode, Rachel has her wedding day and Ross finds out carol is pregnant with his child.

Cock up or really slow swimming sperm?

StealthPolarBear · 27/02/2014 21:44

Well it could uave been 2 weeks later couldnt it? But youre right the timing has always seemed a bit off to me as well

StealthPolarBear · 27/02/2014 21:44

Oh I see you mean the one year tbing is the date of the wedding

curiousgeorgie · 27/02/2014 21:46

Ross says he's 29 for about 3 seasons, and says in the hospital with Joey that his birthday is October, but in another Episode it's in December..

And also Pheobe says her dad left before she was born, but when he meets up with her he says he used to sing to her as a baby..

But the most annoying thing for me was the classic.. They always get the sofa in central perk and they never go to work!

NuggetofPurestGreen · 27/02/2014 22:07

Yeah NickNacks that one annoys me too. Unless they didn't split up right away but that is a bit straw clutchy.
