Does anyone else watch it? Or is it just me...

I love it because it reminds me of another life when I used to sew (before the DC's came along and before I lost the footpedal to my sewing machine in a house move).

The contestants are just so talented and I like the beardy man judge too. Anyone else?

DebbieofM - is that your DD with a sepia tint to the pic? If so, that is a wonderful pic and she looks adorable and is doing the serious face that victorians used to do in pics! Love the little outfit Smile

Conveniently enough the serious face that Victorians used to do in pics and the "Mum, will you just STOP IT ALREADY with the photographs?" face that my children do all the time are more-or-less indistinguishable once a sepia tint is applied...

Strawdolly · 27/03/2014 17:53

That's so cool, Debbie, what a wee sweetie Smile

Watched tonight on catch up and teared up when Linda was talking about her mum, so emotional. Cried at the end too when David left would have cried regardless of who left lol. Don't remember feeling like this watching last year's show. This lot of contestants seem to have gelled really well. Lovely to see.

Housemum · 27/03/2014 19:50

Love the pic - very authentic look!

Gatekeeper · 28/03/2014 10:42

I really enjoyed last nights and also welled up when Lynda was talking about her mam.

Thought the top Chinello had on last night was badly made and didn't fit right at all, like the ones I used to make when I was little for my dolls.

I love the mighty monk blog but I'd forgotten about it since the end of GBBO.

Signing in.. (and i started Secondary school in '75, hence hand machine experience)

DebbieOfMaddox · 01/04/2014 20:13

I really don't think Tamara's is going to work well...

SunnyL · 01/04/2014 20:14

I thought Chinelo would be finished in half an hour and be sat having a cup of tea.

DebbieOfMaddox · 01/04/2014 20:16

Chinelo knows that everyone is expecting her to walk this, so I think she's feeling under extra pressure.

DebbieOfMaddox · 01/04/2014 20:18

I'd love to try draping, but I'd need to (a) invest in a mannequin, (b) have somewhere to put a mannequin and (c) add a LOT of padding (or have the time, energy and friends to make a duct tape dummy, but then (b) still applies).

SunnyL · 01/04/2014 20:18

They really do pick some bogging fabric don't they?

Halsall · 01/04/2014 20:19

So presumably they're not putting fastenings of any sort on - just pinning the dress to the mannequin? Or not?

DebbieOfMaddox · 01/04/2014 20:20

If Lynda beats Chinelo here then Chinelo will be properly hacked off...

Roussette · 01/04/2014 20:21

I do like Lynda's.. it looks classy. But Tamara's ... no, but maybe I find the pattern a bit prissy.

DebbieOfMaddox · 01/04/2014 20:22

Chinelo does have the problem that Patrick and she have quite different taste (I've noticed that in other weeks, too).

DebbieOfMaddox · 01/04/2014 20:23

Oh, my. There's a turn-up for the books.

Halsall · 01/04/2014 20:23

I think Tamara's is a Liberty print. It would make a nice shirt but not a dress, agreed.

Lynda's looked v elegant.

DebbieOfMaddox · 01/04/2014 20:24

Whereas I think Patrick and Lynda are very much on the same wavelength, taste-wise.

coffeeinbed · 01/04/2014 20:24

I'm more than surprised Chinelo didn't win the non pattern dress challenge.
Linda's dress was nicer though.

DebbieOfMaddox · 01/04/2014 20:24

Puff sleeves are the easy (cheating?) option here.
