three, don't worry, I am a one man woman and it's Pot all the way for me (unfortunately, as I am old enough to be his mother). Never fear, Boris is safe.

raahh, your doc is speedy. Glad you have a bit of relief.

Possibly, but with any luck the blister will go away. Tomic's dad however ...

I think Tomic's Dad being away was the problem wasn't it? Grin

Raahh · 24/01/2014 11:26

I fell asleep Sad
I knew I would. I am exhausted. But yay! Rafa Vamos , I love how generous he is in interviews. And he isn't about to make excuses due to his hand.

I will watch it properly later.

And look out for more shots of StefanGrin

Glad you got some sleep in the end Raahh.

Must. Get. Off. Internet. And. Go. To. Work.

JuanPotatoTwo · 24/01/2014 11:28

We knew you were asleep, we tried to wake you!

Raahh · 24/01/2014 11:28

Good thing I woke up- need to pick up DD2[fein]

JuanPotatoTwo · 24/01/2014 11:29

Yes, I should do some work too but I'm warm and comfortable. Wonder what Stefan is saying to Rog now?

OP posts:
Raahh · 24/01/2014 11:29

Juan - sometimes even the thought of Stefan/shots of Nadal's torso isn't enough to keep me awake. Grin

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 24/01/2014 11:44

Weren't really many pictures of Rafa's torso. Mainly only ones of him in a soaking wet shirt.

threebats · 24/01/2014 11:54

Yes raahh a valiant effort was made to rouse you but you are stubborn and slept on.

Sunday morning it is then - I sincerely hope Stan comes out with balls - not just the tennis balls - and gives us all a fitting end to our devotion to the game. I wish to see a show of, 'who are you again..?' As Stan refuses to conform and treats Rafa like a practising ball boy - then Rafa get mad and want to get even with an equally great attitude of, 'Who are you exactly?' I want a David and Goliath match.

magimedi · 24/01/2014 14:02

Well done, Rafa.

What was all the muttering from Rog about Rafa's grunting???

MrsVamos · 24/01/2014 14:57

< mexican waves to all>

I knew he'd do it in 3. Fantastic !

Ouch to blister.

Commiserations to Roger. Not able to keep up with the younger pup any more I fear...

Roll on Sunday ! VAMOS RAFA !

LeBearPolar · 24/01/2014 15:02

All you people who could watch it properly!

I had it on my laptop with the sound muted so I could check the score every now and then whilst at work Grin

Will it be on the normal telly on Sunday? (no fancy channels chez moi, just Freeview)

MrsVamos · 24/01/2014 15:06

Men's Final : BBC2 8:15am Sunday, LeBear. Smile

(Women's Final tomorrow same time if interested).

LeBearPolar · 24/01/2014 15:09

Ooh thank you! Better set the alarm.

I know I should be interested in the women's final...but I'm shallow and there's nothing quite like a couple of fit as hell male tennis players duking it out for a few hours.

magimedi · 24/01/2014 15:15

I would be far more interested in the womens' game if they played 5 sets at slams. Three sets is so different to five - as Andrew Castle keep saying. For once, I agree with him.

MrsVamos · 24/01/2014 15:18

Completely concur, women's is boring, most of the time, and should be 5 sets. Specially in the Grand Slams.

LeBearPolar · 24/01/2014 15:22

Yes, I agree. I don't want to spark up the debate about women's prize money again but many of the top women players can put away a three set match in an hour or so these days. It seems the men have to work considerably harder for their money than the women. You feel that there's something almost gladiatorial about watching a men's match; that they have really fought it out and proved without doubt who is the better player at that moment in time. When watching the women play, I just feel 'meh' a lot of the time as I watch one of the top players dispatch a weaker player 6-2, 6-2 or something like that.

MrsVamos · 24/01/2014 15:32

Precisely, LeBear !

Raahh · 24/01/2014 15:49

MrsV !!

Vamos!

I am so glad he did it, and that Federer got as far as he did. After the past 18 months, it really was looking like the beginning of the end.

I like Stan, and if he was playing anyone else (except Ferrer, or Potato, maybe), I'd let him win. But obviously I want Rafa to win. 3 out of the last 4 Grand slams, when so many were ready to write him off through injury- that's not a bad run!

noddyholder · 24/01/2014 15:54

So gutted for federer Am all for stan now! I think he might just sneak one grand slam in

MrsVamos · 24/01/2014 15:56

Raahh !!

Hello, Gorgeous !

Stan's playing so well, my DS came charging to tell me he had dumped Djikdock out. Pleased much ? Grin

I think it may be too much to hope for, I'd love to see Rafa be the one who gets the 4 slams in a calendar year ? I'd settle for the 3 again, though !

When he wins on Sunday, he will be the first player in the modern era to win all the Slams twice.

Not bad for the second best player ever, eh ? Wink

Raahh · 24/01/2014 15:57

LeBear- I hate the disparity in prize money, sometimes it makes a mockery of the sport.

A great example is the famous Isner/ Mahut match. The loser (Mahut), having been on court for nearly 12 hours over 3 days- will have got the same prize money as the first round loser against Sharapova (who lost 6-0 ,6-1, and whose name i forget). I'm not sure how anyone could argue that is fair! Grin
