Who'll be the toxic, acidic character this year? There's always at least one. I don't usually watch the reality stuff but I quite like this.

Hi, sorry for late joining of sleb thread, bloody loved it, I think it's going to be a good one, already hate Matthew but I suspect he is game playing, Joey Essex might surprise us yet, Steve will be the good old stick and mind everyone along with Kian, the eye candy aka Lucy and miss universe (can't remember her name) will do as little as possible and get their assets out as much as they can. I had to laugh at Lucy saying she hates "media whores" Hmm why is she on the show so, she will be in the papers everyday and on the telly every night.

Im liking steve which has suprised me. Matthew has already got me begging dh to drive me up there with something toxic. Ive done the drive with less reason.

He is not as I expected at all. I first thought a game but then all the tears and I am not so sure.

I was surprised Matthew was so camp and emotional in the first episode. Poor man is going to be voted to do all the trials now. He's quite commanding and in control on his show so it was really bizarre seeing him acting like a little boy!

Mathews reason for going in was as a tribute to his 16 year old best man who lost his life five months after the wedding in a car accident. Not sure if it was his nephew or his wife's. He loved the show and the outdoors. Personally love Matthew Wright and think he is very brave to confront his fears but people seem to really hate him. Why? Obviously a marmite character?

Just FYI... Laila Morse (born Maureen Oldman 1 August 1945 in Dorking, Surrey) is an English actress, best known for playing Mo Harris in BBC series EastEnders, and Janet in the 1997 movie Nil by Mouth, which was written and directed by her younger brother, Hollywood actor Gary Oldman.

"Laila Morse" is an anagram of an Italian phrase for "my sister" (Mia Sorella) – a name she got from Oldman's then girlfriend Isabella Rossellini.

I like Matthew even more now after hearing his reasons for doing the show. I personally didn't think he was doing it for the PR (esp as he already hosts 2 shows).

There are usually 12 contestants and an equal female/male split. So the late contestants will be women if I've counted correctly.

Faves are Matthew and David as they are interesting to watch. Not keen on actress or Mo because I'm sure I've seen Mo in some other reality show and she came across as not very nice to other contestants. But then I might be getting her mixed up with someone else.

Anyway, I've been thinking today, I wonder if David will end up being popular? He was so calm in the task yesterday. Not what I was expecting at all.

I'm looking forward to seeing how the eating trail goes tonight. Normally the ones that do well in that do well in the whole show, probably because they aren't constantly selected for trials.

Another vote for Matthew from me. I've always liked him and like him even more now for being genuinely vulnerable. Not sure about the socks though!
