It took me ages to get to sleep last night. I'm not particularly maudlin in general but that was shocking.

TBH it is amazing how conveniently / neatly people do die.

Lord filling ham will get suspicious and bring the police to downton. Thomas or mrs ladies maid will implicate Bates somehow.

I reckon bates was standing in a basement stairway with his walking cane poking out through the railings as green walked by.

Anna was at downton wasn't she? And bates was supposedly in York. Bit chancy to bump into green at picadolly, how would he know where he was? Maybe it was nothing to do with bates after all.
