Exactly pindorasbox!!

boogiewoogie · 27/09/2013 14:05

I also find it hard to believe that it was anal sex Chub why are mners so obsessed with it anyway. Was sodomy even legal anyway? I suppose we'll never really get to the bottom of it. No pun intended again.

DioneTheDiabolist · 27/09/2013 18:19

I think sodomy between a man and woman only became legal at the end of the 20th century. However, I doubt he would have checked first.

PPPpickUPaPenguin · 27/09/2013 22:14

It wasn't anal.

I don't understand the MN obsession with anal either? Confused I haven't been able to eat sweetcorn again, after reading a thread on bumsex.

eddiemairswife · 27/09/2013 23:08

Were the circumstances in which he died common knowledge? If not ,who did know? I can't remember all the details. How did she get help when he was collapsed on top of her?

Chubfuddler · 27/09/2013 23:26

I've just watched the whole of series 1 in the last two evenings. By the end of the series it was accepted as true by pretty much most of London society but no one had actually broken ranks so far as to print it in a newspaper. I think the outbreak of war saved Mary's reputation tbh - it all got lost in the frenzy of war related activity.

I have to say having watched the first series again for the first time since it was on (three, four years ago?) that it was perfect in every respect. I don't actually think it is less good now we are just spoiled.

As for the mechanisms of how she pushed him off her, I don't think she did. She tried to rouse him and then panicked and tried to move him and couldn't.

Chubfuddler · 27/09/2013 23:28

In the house the only people who didn't know wee her father and Sybil. Matthew didn't know and nor did his mother but all the servants knew and the rest of her family.

PPPpickUPaPenguin · 29/09/2013 13:53

Sunday has come around again.

Chubfuddler · 29/09/2013 18:10

Hurrah. Mary will either have snogged branston or had a proposal from a random by the end of the episode. Possibly both.

Animation · 29/09/2013 18:33

Just caught up on last weeks episode - and think it's going alright.

And way to go Cora! the way she dealt with the nanny.

Agree Mary and Branston look like they might get it on - aww Smile - her crying scene was a heart breaker - good acting.

Animation · 29/09/2013 18:37

And yes - gorgeous Edith dress in the restaurant!

auntmargaret · 29/09/2013 20:49

Yay, Wine at the ready

TSSDNCOP · 29/09/2013 21:03

StillaNortherner · 29/09/2013 21:04

TSSDNCOP · 29/09/2013 21:04

There's Something In The Box!!!

Chubfuddler · 29/09/2013 21:05

Season opener never has dogs arse

Oh yes she's only 35 obviously she can't open her own post.

Chubfuddler · 29/09/2013 21:05

Granny talking sense as usual.

StillaNortherner · 29/09/2013 21:07

George wasn't born when he wrote it so he wasn't exactly planning in excluding his male heir. He'd probably have changed it if he were still alive!

CrazyOldCatLady · 29/09/2013 21:08

tempted to call for nanny and have you put to bed Grin

StillaNortherner · 29/09/2013 21:08

Is this the same guy that turned up at some point in s1 (I think) demanding money from Carson?

Chubfuddler · 29/09/2013 21:09

Depends when he wrote it. It's not a case of excluding the child, but wanting his wife to have control of their affairs.

Poor Mosley.

StillaNortherner · 29/09/2013 21:11

Six months to pack up an office. Blimey

Chubfuddler · 29/09/2013 21:11

Still don't understand why he wrote some daft letter instead of a will. Unless it's just a love letter.

BoffinMum · 29/09/2013 21:11

Bloody awful her dad opened her post.

Chubfuddler · 29/09/2013 21:12

Yes it is fucking feeble. You daft floppy haired twat.
