Crap soaps are so much fun MN style so does anyone watch Waterloo road and want to play 'where are they from?' 'How unrealistic' and 'who is head this week?'

I miss Izzy and Mica. The newer series make their lives look boring by comparison Sad

I get increasingly irritated at the way they keep portraying Kevin as essentially thinking with his dick. He's meant to be mega bright, I thought he'd get round the problem with Barry's criminal mate in the last series by thinking up something clever that criminal mate couldn't cope with, instead he went after him with a gun and got into trouble.

Also, how come he only had £300 in savings? I thought he earned megabucks from the game app or whatever it was?

Sad poor grantley. He was the best. I can't stand the cast they have now, but I still watch it every week in the hopes it might get better.

Sponsored clean to fund her boxing? Who on earth is sponsoring them? Christine said she will give them £5, but no one else did...

You can learn history too (Audrey) and French (George and some nameless teacher mentioned a few eps ago). And PE (mr lowsley). You're fucked for English and Maths though! Grin

Two of their English teachers are dead and one is the head, they don't take on staff very often though do they.

yes they never replaced Chalky for maths did they.

You can also do food tech and textiles at the same time under Mrs Budgeon.

wow she did her teacher training very quickly.

are the older ones meant to be A level students? All seem to do the same options.

It's Scotland so not sure how that works. Plus they were independent (& could do own curriculum ) and now aren't.

taking this far too seriously

We don't have GCSEs or A levels up here in Scotland - they do Standard Grades (GCSE equivalents) at the end of year 11, Highers at the end of year 12 (these fall between AS levels and A levels), and Advanced Highers at the end of year 13 - these are A levels-plus - apparently they cover at least some of the work covered in the first year of degrees up here.

We live about half an hour's drive from Greenock, where it is filmed, and when we were down that way one day, I made dh drive me round until we found the Actual School where it is filmed! It is funny to see what bits they film in which parts of Greenock and Gourock, and to marvel at how they manage to get from one bit to another so fast and on foot!

I haven't watched this week's episode yet - I am going to settle down in front of the tv this afternoon, with my knitting, and watch it on Sky+ - but I have seen something on this thread that is a bit Shock - Grantley dies??!

I've just finished series 1 on the danish version of netflix. Wow it is awful. Why, if shortly after your wedding, your BF and your DH got together would you be wishing them all the best and saying that the most important thing is to remain fiends? Or is she really plotting their downfall?

Report
SpanishFly · 05/11/2013 15:23

redexpat That is the brilliance of Waterloo Road. And the even more worrying thing is that each series gets even less believable than the last!
