Crap soaps are so much fun MN style so does anyone watch Waterloo road and want to play 'where are they from?' 'How unrealistic' and 'who is head this week?'

I'm afraid all I can think is that if I went to Waterloo Road I'd be spending all my time in the PRU!! Nikki Boston (aka Heather Peace) is fit as!!
I'm afraid I love the show - though I'm not afraid to admit that many of the story lines are far fetched, a lot of the staff and students are actually quite believable characters! (At least in the schools I've been to.)
I just can't believe Audrey got let off so lightly for what was in effect trespassing in a student's house! Feel a bit sorry for her though tbh.

Londons burning? Was he really sicknote?

Wasn't strict teacher lady in that too?

AlphaBetaOoda · 16/09/2013 19:12

She def was.

Grantley is not sick note! He was in a few episodes of the bill and casualty and was in tinker tailor soldier spy.

AliceinSlumberland · 16/09/2013 19:36

I too love Waterloo road although much preferred the old series and feel that none of the new staff are likeable at all except for Nikki Boston. I hate the head and the new deputy/nqt storyline is naff. It's gone even more ott than ever before but I still watch it! I just hope they get some new staff and students soon, I really hate Connor and Imogen, and was the person who wrote 'Barry Barry' in taking the piss?!?!

Also can't see how the school is so poor, doesn't the rich one still fund the schoolhouse?

JustBecauseICan · 17/09/2013 14:00

The Nikki one played a madster wronged wife who sobbed and hiccupped very loudly in a thing about vets. Keith Barron played the dad who dropped dead with a heart attack (as he has done in every thing he's been in for the last 30 years)

Her husband ran off with thingy- Zoe with the ginormous bottom in Casualty and she (Nikki) went a bit Glenn Close about it all.

I loved WR at the beginning, but so much death!

Tom IRL would have been fingered years ago for having lots of dead girlfriends in suspicious circumstances.

Why does each series have to start with some underclass scummy family who, surprise! turn out to have Hearts Of Gold and be Very Clever or Good at Something?

DramaQueenofHighCs · 18/09/2013 07:47

Heather Peace (who plays Nikki Boston) has been in LOADS of things - including London's Burning. She is also a majorly talented singer and song writer.

Catching up on this weeks.
What happened with Angus Deayton getting DH job?

Barry Barry was born in 1994.

My boys love this show.

YoniBottsBumgina · 21/09/2013 20:25

Oh I miss WR! So ridiculous! I will live vicariously through you lot because I can't be arsed to install lots of software just so I can watch iplayer.

I agree it was far better in the early days though. Up to Season 5 part 1 I think was good, after that, no, ridiculous. Funny though.

YoniBottsBumgina · 21/09/2013 20:28

Connor and Imogen are bleurgh though, I agree. Most boring/annoying couple in it.

AlphaBetaOoda · 21/09/2013 21:37

Angus Deayton does seem to have upped the WTF factor as I can't take him seriously at all never mind the unlikely storylines!

Oooh love WR but I don't think this series is going to be as good as last one...I just feel all nostalgic watching school dramas reminiscing about first crushes, end of term discos etc Wink

nennypops · 22/09/2013 10:48

Grantly didn't play Sicknote in London's Burning. That was Richard Walsh; the actor who plays Grantly is Philip Martin Brown.

AlphaBetaOoda · 26/09/2013 21:03

Why's Barry Barry in a suit?

OP posts:
KareninsGirl · 26/09/2013 23:43

I wondered that too, alpha! Perhaps he thinks he's on par with the teachers and they're just pleased he's taking pride in his appearance...who knows? I don't really understand why any of the characters do what they do any more.

Imogen and Connor are highly irritating, yes.

I'd love to see a visit by Michael Gove feature in an episode haha!

miaow, perhaps MG's face could indeed be steamrollered by an errant teen in Waterloo Road? Best of both words then...

Kikithecat · 27/09/2013 09:15

So I guess I'm on my own in starting to fancy Barry Barry?Blush

KareninsGirl · 27/09/2013 09:45

kiki, no, my daughter's best friend fancies him (but she is only 13 lol)
