Well, when I say almost what I mean is the 29th September in the US, and I think we were a week behind last series so early October - roll on the Autumn.

. One of the comments says that at the end Brodie says in Arabic "I am a muslim lost in this world..help me come clean again".

I CANNOT wait. I've missed Carrie so much. And Saul. Anyone sad enough to join me in the anticipation?

TensionWheelsCoolHeels · 25/11/2013 19:37

Grin I rest my case!

TheDoctrineOfWho · 25/11/2013 23:13

I don't think shot/dissolved guy was the bomber. On the phone they just said "you've been compromised"... I think he was another baddie who they shot to put the CIA off - the lawyers must think they are officially being watched, right?

Showtime · 25/11/2013 23:45

Anyone know why last episode title was "The Red Wheelbarrow"?

TheDoctrineOfWho · 25/11/2013 23:50

Carrie's text message to dodgy young lawyer.

GypsyFloss · 26/11/2013 05:53

Showtime it's the title of a poem which has the line " it all depends" which Saul used and I think Carrie also wrote in a text that we saw. One of the blogs explained it better, I'll try to link later.

Showtime · 26/11/2013 10:20

Thanks Gypsyfloss. I frequently have to turn up the volume, missing bits, but don't remember any poems, and thought it might have a clue. Will try googling it.

stinkingbishop · 26/11/2013 11:38

so much depends
upon
a red wheel
barrow
glazed with rain
water
beside the white
chickens

It's about how important our perception of things is. Which I think this season is playing with eg the rug pull with Carrie in the nuthouse, Brody's reality now completely altered by heroin...nothing is what it seems. Or is it...Just like the whole business of espionage itself.

stinkingbishop · 26/11/2013 11:45

PS have you seen Danes is now listed as Producer?

Showtime · 26/11/2013 13:13

Well thank you bishop, and for the explanation. Having googled this, inc. Wikipedia, I was reminded of my first baffling experience of American Literature (apart from mainstream novels of course),and not at all surprised that your interpretation is just one of a great many therein.
My idea that the title might throw light on events is actually quite funny, but thanks for writing out the poem.

Showtime · 26/11/2013 15:22

PS And all the other versions have four lines

stinkingbishop · 26/11/2013 18:48

Oo really? I always thought it was written like that to force you to pause/think.

I guess it could be about the 'depends' bit as well. The way everything is more tangled up than a tangly thing. One little sperm and Carrie's pregnant which unhinges her and almost gets her to break in on the lawyer mid murder, which would have blown her cover, and Javadi, and possible regime change and world peace...butterfly wings.

Showtime · 26/11/2013 20:49

Well, there are certainly plenty of theories about the meaning of the poem, and probably the plot will become clearer with time.

HalleLouja · 27/11/2013 10:12

Guardian blog link. Are there any other blogs worth following about Homeland?

Have no idea who is good and bad now. Was $10m the amount on offer for finding Brody? Or is it just a payment for good work.

I hope they stop the Senator being director of CIA. He is a knob.Even if Saul is a baddy at least he is more fun. I think Alan from Mumbai is not just a jealous ex but part of the bigger picture but could be completely wrong on that too.

GypsyFloss · 27/11/2013 18:17

Homeland gives the vulture.com recap. You can scroll through to each episode. I quite like this one Hallelouja

TheDietStartsTomorrow · 27/11/2013 19:50

I thought this weeks episode was rubbish. Too slow, too many unclear references to things that will happen in the future (probably) that I have to take a mental note of and not enough clarity on existing plots.

Who is Carrie's baby dad? She hinted it was Brody but I can see that being turned on its heels.

How did Alain get such easy access into Saul's house?

Why is it so easy to hack into his computer?

Why does he have such sensitive material worth stealing on his home computer?

why wasn't Mira a little more cautious?

Why is Mira so easy to be won over? Sleeping one night with Alain and the next with Saul and doing both so willingly.

Why didn't Saul tell Carrie where he is going?

Did Saul arrange for Brody to go Columbia (or whatever strange place he's in)?

Why did Saul, the Head of CIA go to collect him, himself? That's never going to happen in real life.

Why is Carrie given so much space at the CIA if she is so bloody unpredictable? Any employee who ran out and jeopardised an important mission like that should be fired on the spot.

And why does she keep the phone in the bloody kitchen??

TheDoctrineOfWho · 27/11/2013 19:54

I don't think it's too strange that Mira slept with her husband the day after she (first?) slept with Alain - they were reconciling after she thought Saul had given up on her and they've been married 30 years. She finished with Alain immediately afterwards.

yesbutnobut · 27/11/2013 19:54

I like the Huffington Post Homeland recap blog (sorry for lack of link).

Did anyone else think Carrie was having a miscarriage in the ambulance? She was saying 'Something's happening' as if she could feel things moving. Imagine how Quinn will feel if that's the case?

I was quite surprised the 2 lawyers assumed Carrie was still working for them - seemed a bit far fetched after Javadi was hauled in and turned by the CIA.

nomorecrumbs · 27/11/2013 20:09

I thought Carrie said 'something's happening' as a reference to Saul's mysterious plan; she wants to know what's going on behind the scenes and why they were allowing the dodgy lawyer to run amok.

yesbutnobut · 27/11/2013 20:21

I'm sure you could be right nomorecrumbs, we'll find out on Sunday! It was just the way Quinn directed her to her arm injury (thanks Quinn) but it was as if she was saying no it's not that it's something else (related to her body)!

Loved the scene where Saul arrived in Brody's hideaway: having handed over $10m I don't suppose he was expecting to find Brody had become a junkie.

Glad the series has taken a turn for the better anyway :)

stinkingbishop · 28/11/2013 09:02

dietstarts

There have been a few time refs - bombing was in Dec, we saw the pregnancy tests in March, scan was 13 weeks, so it's Brody's, not one night stand...unless she's been around more than we think!

It's Caracas in Venezuela.

Janek · 28/11/2013 11:56

diet i think alain is just using that mouse to listen to what goes on in saul's house, not hack his computer, the music mira turned on appeared simultaneously in his car.

yesbut javardi was hauled in by the cia secretly, otherwise the plan to turn him/send him back would be blown straight away, so there's no reason for the lawyers not to think carrie isn't working for them. Other than she never said she would, but that doesn't seem to worry them Grin.

thecatlikesmebest · 29/11/2013 09:59

That was Homeland at it's best. Jaw dropping plot twist Saul knew where Brody was all along. So is Brody in deep cover?

DH saw episode 1 of series one.
Since then I have watched it alone. He walked in while I was watching this week's episode and said "so what's happened then? Did he get away?"
Hmm

coffeeinbed · 29/11/2013 11:33

I thought Carrie was further along the pregnancy.
Gynea asked if she wanted to know the sex of the baby suit it the scan. 13 weeks is far too early.
Or did I imagine that?

HalleLouja · 29/11/2013 11:45

The gynae did ask. There are ways of finding out early but not sure that early....

MajesticWhine · 29/11/2013 23:06

I was told the sex of all 3 of my children at the first scan, around 12 or 13 weeks.
