that it's the last in the series, I love it and it should run every week of the year IMO!

Yep, Marina, I agree. I know it's only a tv drama but they had Carter's baby die already, didn't they?

Not to mention Carrie's partner, and Dr Green, and Mr here comes the chopper to finish the job, and I've probably left someone out here. But not the BABY, surely! Shock

finally watched the finale last night on RTE. OMG!

Cried when Neela was reliving her moments with Gallant , but I agree that shes a crap actress.

Luka is beautiful even when hes paralysed.

Did anyone else thiknk that Abbie's boobs were way too small for being very pregnant?

My boobs never changed size when I was pregnant Sad.

dewmeadow · 05/06/2006 09:35

expatinscotland · 05/06/2006 09:35

gallant has gone? about time Wink his acting made neela look competent.

iirc, the alex kingston character leaked milk whilst performing surgery once..nice touch.

have i missed all the re runs of this (was on hols)?

expatinscotland · 06/06/2006 09:05

I saw it again. Abby struck a file cart w/her belly on her way down. This must be what caused her bleed.

Poor baby!

Of course, IRL, she wouldn't have been allowed to get up and treat patients by the other staff - they'd have shipped her a** straight up to OB on the basis of her head injury alone.

Batters - what about Abby is she not an original cast member aand Kerry ?
Great clifff hanger... the thing is how is Abby suppose to get back to work quickly after she's had the baby... or is it the US where maternity leaves are super short???

tribpot · 06/06/2006 09:40

No, Abby's not original, she first appeared as an OB nurse when Carol Hathaway had her baby (so series 3, possibly 4? After George had left).

Kerry also not original, although in from series 2, she took over as Chief Resident after Dr Mark Greene (immortal hero of ER, never to be forgotten) became an attending.

Jerry and the nurses are the main survivors of the early days (maybe not too much longer for Jerry) - Malik, Halle, Chuni, Lily .. they must have been quite annoyed when there was all the talk about Carter being the only surviving original cast member, but I think because they aren't in the credits, they're always listed as guest stars.

Couldn't work out the point of the Luka being paralysed story, given two puffs of air and he was fine again, just tied on to a gurney.

FlameBoo · 06/06/2006 09:48

I think that Malik is one of the only ones who has been in it consistently from the first episode...

Kerry joined a few episodes in (but still season 1), Abby... dunno, I'm on season 4 atm and she's not popped up yet (half the cast of CSI have though!).

I seem to recall reading that Carter leaving was the last of the original f/t doctors, but the nurses they don't seem all that bothered by.

Hasn't the one who speaks Spanish (slept with Luka at one point) been there from the beginning?

I'm still bitter that E4 showed the entire plot in one advert.

FlameBoo · 06/06/2006 09:50

Was she really season 2? My brain is mushed.

bundle · 06/06/2006 09:53

It's not been the same since carol/doug left Sad

bundle · 06/06/2006 09:55

maybe i'm wrong, but i'm sure kerry wasn't there in season 1...

FlameBoo · 06/06/2006 10:02

Nah, you're right, I'm sure you are... my brain tends to merge them together Blush

tribpot · 06/06/2006 10:23

\link{http://www.digiserve.com/er/episodes/season6/er608s-r.html\And Abby - Season SIX Episode 8}.

Everyone who's ever been on telly in the US has appeared in ER at least once, the entire cast of The West Wing has been on too I reckon (except Martin Sheen).

homemama · 06/06/2006 14:36

Abby started when she was the OB nurse who delivered Sandie's baby. (Kerry's dead wife) It was just before Carter & Lucy were stabbed as she was in a few episodes with Lucy.

homemama · 06/06/2006 14:38

Or maybe it was Carol's babies. Can't remember.

tribpot · 06/06/2006 15:59

Definitely Carol, Sandy was quite a while after Carol left, I think.

lusciouslynda · 07/06/2006 12:15
