Luther - Series 3?

Anyone know when Luther, Series 3 is starting.

I guess that it will be in the Autumn, but don't know.

Can't wait :)

I don't remember his wife being dead. The last I remember was him telling her to take the kids and go to her mum's. Or have I made that up? She was a blonde. Am I thinking of the right thing?

His wife died in series one. She was dark with curly hair - they had split up and she had a new partner (one of the MGann brothers) but Luther still loved her

Bloody brilliant as usual, poor Justin, and I thought Mary was in on the plot to bring Luther down, last one next week and Alice is back Grin wonder what will happen, she won't be too fond of Mary!!

It is riveting. I really hoped Justin would be shot in the leg.

I think I'm thinking of another cop thing. I must be. (Very glamourous business woman is his old Uni girlfriend; she's into something very illegal; he kills her in her hallway.)

I am heartbroken. I just sat there with my mouth wide open. Why couldn't the cunt run away????? I thought the fence was electrified or too high or something.
He had tons of time to run away!!!!! Instead of just shooting lovely Justin who was just doing his job..... And when Luther told him to get up and then lied down next to him....

The trouble is I can't remember much of series 1 or 2 of this. I can't remember any of the stuff to do with Luther's wife, or anything much about Alice whom I only know about from reading this thread! And I was rivetted to both of them.

I take back my initial doubts about Mary.

Very pleased to see Alice is in next weeks episode.

Just watched it on catch up as well as missed the beginning half last night - what an episode... any slight sympathy for the vigilante disappeared when he killed Justin, couldn't believe it at the end when Luther was so distressed he kept shouting at him and lay down next to him :(
Brilliant writing, and good to make us think about what 'we' would have done, and the dangers of letting mob rule via social media take over.... very scary indeed. Brilliant writing and acting. Will miss Justin :( but Warren Brown will be back in Good Cop 2 I think.

Alice killed her parents - she was the first case we saw Luther investigate in Series One.

At the end of Series One she also killed Ian Reed (Luther's fomer best friend who had killed Luther's wife) and she was locked up. In Series Two Luther helped her escape - he hid a key card in an apple core and threw it over the wall.

He needed her help in series 2 that's why he helped her escape, she is nuts, but brilliantly nutty, she is coming back to help Luther, wonder does he get in touch with her or does she just turn up, I can't wait for next week and then that will be it for another year or so Sad nothing beats it on telly, best show ever.

I don't think he did it because he needed her help. It was more because he felt he owed her.
As it turned out he did end up 'using' her to help someone else but I don't think it's made clear that he even told her about it.
