So excited. We're we starting to see cracks in the marriage last season? I hope we see more of Betty this time.

I know kneedeep, but I just can't help it. Blush

kneedeepindaisies · 18/04/2013 21:29

I don't know if its him Tickled or if my tastes have changed between Season 5 and 6!

I would have liked Roger to talk about ripping someone's dress off but I think that's quite unlikely Grin

IdaBlankenship · 18/04/2013 22:01

I think Vincent Kartheizer is great in this show. I love how Pete keeps trying to emulate Don but fails on every level - of course his affair would be instantly discovered whilst Don can apparently shag his entire apartment block with no-one being any the wiser.
Tickled his masterful tone and steely eye contact sure was sexy in that scene

SorrelForbes · 18/04/2013 22:46

Just been watching some of season one with DH.

Pete was definitely hotter then but much more insecure. Still grubby though Wink

TheAccidentalExhibitionist · 19/04/2013 08:44

I was a little hot under the collar when Don was in the restaurant too. I still fancy the arse off of him.
I love the way they pull him in different directions, with his internal dialogue leaking out. I think he really wants his marriage to Megan to work. He wants to see her happy. He's saying the right things but not feeling them. The end scene when he couldn't face going into his apartment..spoke volumes about how he really feels about their marriage, while she is blissfully ignorant.

IdaBlankenship · 19/04/2013 09:07

Don just has a massive self-destructive streak. The only person he could truly be himself with was Anna and now she is gone too.

TheAccidentalExhibitionist · 19/04/2013 10:56

That was a wonderful relationship. Perhaps it was so powerful because she knew the truth about him. Maybe he can only be happy if he tells everyone the truth. Would it give him some peace? Perhaps that will be how the show will end.

IdaBlankenship · 19/04/2013 11:46

I think thats how he thought he would feel - but Megan knows the truth but he still can't be himself with her. I don't think Megan wants to see any weakness in Don

OrangeFootedScrubfowl · 22/04/2013 22:44

As soon as I saw Sam Taggart from ER in the background when someone was having a heard attack I said she must be who he has an affair with this season. I am soooo clever.

Thanks for the congratulations on page one Ida! Ok, off to read rest of thread now...

OrangeFootedScrubfowl · 22/04/2013 23:07

Oh I forgot, I can't read the rest of the thread because I've only seen the first episode!
Ok, episode one - Don was losing it... Drunk at the funeral. Oh dear.

Betty looks so different with black hair!

Loving Peggy still being late-night-at-work friends with whatshisname.

Bit cheesy Roger crying at the shoeshine guy instead of his mum but I did like his daughter leaving the water behind from the River Jordan.

kneedeepindaisies · 24/04/2013 19:55

I saw Jon Hamm in an episode of Charmed today.

He is sexier as Don.

Looking forward to tonight.

IdaBlankenship · 24/04/2013 21:45

Yes, I totally didn't fancy him in Bridesmaids either

MarshaBrady · 24/04/2013 21:46

I just started this. And have to read the thread. But found the first double episode really bad!

Lighthousekeeping · 25/04/2013 00:12

He has been stereotyped I fear.

Back off Harry - do not besmirch the lovely Joan. How humiliated must she have felt in that meeting? Sad

SorrelForbes · 25/04/2013 09:00

Harry is a dick.

IdaBlankenship · 25/04/2013 09:29

Succinct yet accurate Sorrel Wink

Lighthousekeeping · 25/04/2013 09:49

I enjoyed last nights. Is beardy man Joan's partner and, don't the others know?

OP posts:
Happyasapiginshite · 25/04/2013 10:36

Is Don hitting the destruct button on his marriage by turning up at Megan's filming? He was such a pig to her. love him

IdaBlankenship · 25/04/2013 10:57

Which beardy man Lighthouse?

SorrelForbes · 25/04/2013 10:57

Harry gives me the rage with his stupid floppy hair and his TV stuff and, and, and ...

IdaBlankenship · 25/04/2013 12:58

I rather liked his office though - the antithesis of modern 60's design

SorrelForbes · 25/04/2013 15:34

A lot of the characters seems to have changed their hair style, dress style quite drastically from the last series.

Gerrof · 25/04/2013 15:39

I don't know why I am on this thread as I am only in series 3 (it doesn't matter about spoilers though as I have read the entirety of Tom and Lorenzo) but I am so keen to catch up and watch this new series.

I really like how from disliking all of the characters when I first watched it I have grown to really like a couple (Betty and Joan especially) and understand the rest (really started to like Pete when he did the Charleston) but one character I have thorough loathed throughout is Don.

I just wish that I hadn't read everything about the series and know what's coming up, I need to catch up quickly.

I am fascinated to see how the thing will end - and how everyone will be at the denouement,

It is the best thing I have seen on telly for years.

SorrelForbes · 25/04/2013 16:49

It is most definitely the best thing I've seen on TV for a long time.

I'm not a Don fan at all. He's too deep and angst ridden for me. Pete and Peggy are the most interesting characters by far.
