I am Angry that prisoners behave like that and ihope there are tough penalties.

KenDoddsDadsDog · 18/02/2013 21:14

The Strangeways one was fascinating , this is scary. The behaviour is just shocking.

Started watching it as I used to live near there but it was so appalling I have turned over to watch the penguins - much more civilised! Smile

MakeItUpAsYouGoAlong · 18/02/2013 21:15

This is so scary and shocking.
The young black guy is shocking.

SoleSource · 18/02/2013 21:17

Makett I have met guys like him before. Vile. Pity them and wonder.how they got to be that way.

Three new inmates have taken a prisoner hostage!

KenDoddsDadsDog · 18/02/2013 21:17

I don't know much about prison but do the officers have less 'power' in a YOI?

tapdancingmum · 18/02/2013 21:18

I am as not far from where I live and one of my DD2's mums works there. Watching with DD2 (nearly 12) and she said 'I want to be one of those'! I think she meant prison warder Confused

MakeItUpAsYouGoAlong · 18/02/2013 21:18

Just sat here like Shock

SoleSource · 18/02/2013 21:20

It was Caspian the newbie. Attention seeker

KenDoddsDadsDog · 18/02/2013 21:20

There isn't even a David Charlton on this series

OP posts:
MakeItUpAsYouGoAlong · 18/02/2013 21:21

This is making me feel worse about my thread about a friend and a violent man

SoleSource · 18/02/2013 21:22

David Charlton, who he? :)

MakeItUpAsYouGoAlong · 18/02/2013 21:23

He was on strangeways I think?
That was a shocking insight too

SoleSource · 18/02/2013 21:25

Oh I missed Strangeways documentary :(

MakeItUpAsYouGoAlong · 18/02/2013 21:27

It was very good, i think it might have been left up on the itv player

Tincletoes · 18/02/2013 21:28

Not watching it, but currently considering deleting a friend on Facebook due to the frequent updates about how her DH is giving up 2/3 of his salary to give these people a pool table and an education... etc etc

Sidge · 18/02/2013 21:29

It's frightening isn't it? The sheer rage and simmering violence. I can't imagine working in that environment.

How do these young men become so damaged? Sad

MakeItUpAsYouGoAlong · 18/02/2013 21:31

Tincle- can you ask her if she'd prefer them living on her street please Wink

prettypurpledaisy · 18/02/2013 21:31

In some ways I am quite glad I didn't complete my application to teach in a YOI but in others I think I would do far better good there than in my current employment.

ggirl · 18/02/2013 21:32

sidge -exactly what I was thinking..what makes them so damaged..I picture them as little boys in big bodies

KenDoddsDadsDog · 18/02/2013 21:32

David Charlton was a very disturbed man (he went to school with some of my friends) but provided some TV Gold.
"Good morning David how are you?"
"Fuck off"

OP posts:
Wewereherefirst · 18/02/2013 21:34

It's awful, the levels of violence involved. It's quite frightening. Sad

MakeItUpAsYouGoAlong · 18/02/2013 21:42

How did he manage to have a child? He is terrifying

PartyFops · 18/02/2013 21:43

its scary that these boys are fathers, hopefully the next generation will not follow in their footsteps, but I fear they will Sad
