last week?

OP posts:
guineapiglet · 31/05/2013 17:29

My daughter and I love this, watch religiously every week now, love the story line, the music and the plot which is unravelling nicely.... I am a big Deacon fan, and she loves Gunnar, it races along with various twists - amazing to think that really there are only really 5 or 6 'main' characters and we have got to know them so quickly, but there have been a number of twists, in that Avery seems to have changed face, Scarlett seems to have fallen for Gunnar quite quickly, and lovely to see Deacon with someone out of the music business. Can't quite get my head around Rayna and Juliette yet, they have both changed and then unchanged if that makes sense, Rayna getting more 'out there' by employing the charms of Liam, and Juliette seemingly to have had a 'mum conversion' and then back again by shagging the one true support her mum seemed to have. It reminds me of the old Dallas, but with music! It is quite light and very watchable, but they are obviously now chugging along making way for Series 2, so I guess it is leading to some kind of 'cliff hanger', but it would be nice for Deacon to know about his daughter once and for all.

diddl · 31/05/2013 18:12

Ooh dear.

Looks like Deacon's about to dump the vet for Rayna.

Still feel sorry for Juliette-she hasn't a clue who to trust, poor lamb.

And her mum getting all stroppy because Juliette isn't supporting her-I guess she'll relapse now that she's been parted from Dante/Juliette chose him over her mum.

Well, it's not going to end well with slimeball Dante.

What's he up to?

Gonna run off with some money?

tribpot · 31/05/2013 18:54

I can definitely see Juliette's mum relapsing, which is a shame. Unfortunately they both define themselves rather too much by their relationships with men.

Poor old vet - Deacon just can't get Rayna out of his head. I guess when/if he finds out about Maddie and goes mental she might have more of a chance ... not a great scenario, though.

Dante is awful - hard to believe he's managed to be more dislikable than Avery. I actually thought for one moment Juliette might ask him to open the show for her, which would have been very weird.

diddl · 31/05/2013 21:05

When Deacon finds out Maddie is his daughter, he'll fall off the wagon, surely?

GreatGretzky · 01/06/2013 23:51

guinea it's definitely a cliffhanger ending, but not how you might expect. That is all I will say!

lovelychops · 06/06/2013 23:04

Hmmm felt like everything moved a bit too fast this evening... How many episodes are left? Felt rather rushed I feel

GreatGretzky · 06/06/2013 23:10

3 episodes left.

I liked the vet, she was lovely and I'm sad she's had to go but Deacon and Rayna at last! I know what's coming but I just can't help but be happy about it for now!

Will wants the bromance to be a romance it seems! Grin

Not surprised by Dante at all, slimy little man. I just feel so sorry for poor Jolene! Someone needs to give that woman a hug!

guineapiglet · 07/06/2013 08:48

Yes i agree last night was all very rushed, lots of plot twists in a short time:
Rayna and liam then deacon
juliette turning on her mum again then being duped by dante and his really bad actress girlfriend - did juliette really fall for that and willing to forfeit 500000 dollars for no loss of face?!
Gunnars new bromance
(loved loved loved the song they played on stage together)
Scarlett and avery who is pretty hot and has had a complete character change!"
teddy and coleman
teddy ditching pegg
rayna and her dad

alot to take in eh??

GreatGretzky · 07/06/2013 10:43

I think this is around the point that they had an episode cut and had to squash everything into the last few.

Listmaker · 07/06/2013 11:55

There was a lot crammed into last night. I know it was inevitable the Deacon and Rayna were going to get back together but I really didn't want them to. She gets right on my nerves and the vet lady was lovely!

And Gunnar and Scarlett - why couldn't they let them be happy and have a record deal together...

And Dante went from nice guy to super villain in two episodes - good going!

stringbean · 07/06/2013 21:48

Well, Deacon & Rayna finally got it together - I wonder how long it will last? All the while, he's been portraying this image of the nice guy who somehow 'deserves' to be with Rayna after pining for so long, but I suspect we'll see the mean side of him when he falls off the wagon - which I think is just inevitable now - over the paternity thing. And then we'll understand why Rayna ran in the opposite direction and married Teddy in a hurry. But all the time, she's kept Deacon hanging on a thread...

I'm a bit fed up with the pair of them. Deacon seems to have sabotaged his chance with the lovely vet - as no doubt he's done with plenty of other opportunities; Rayna should have taken up Liam's offer for some fun which might have lent a different perspective to the whole thing. He's not the answer for her, but she can have a good time with him while deciding what she wants in life. But instead, she returns to Deacon and there's no way it will end happy ever afterly.

Dante - no surprise there then, eh?

Avery - beginning to like the dude!

Gunnar & Will - looks like the bromance was short-lived. That's a bit awkward when the guy lives upstairs....

LittleAbruzzenBear · 08/06/2013 09:55

Hey y'all!

I like Avery now as he has learned his lesson, although I don't like how Gunnar is changing. In fact, I predict Avery and Scarlet reuniting.

I love Deacon and was Angry at Rayna and him getting it on. I know they go back a long way romantically, but I prefer the vet with Deacon and Rayna should stick with Liam. I did like it when Rayna and her father talked and said about starting again.

I wanted to hug Juliette's Mum too. I hope she didn't have a relapse after the Juliette/Dante episode. We were right about him weren't we!

diddl · 08/06/2013 15:47

I wonder if Scarlett will ask Avery to play with her now that Gunnar won't?

I think she'll dump Gunnar for Avery.

Earlybird · 08/06/2013 16:11

Does watching the show make you want to visit the city of Nashville?

What do you think of their houses, clothes, hair? Are you rushing out to buy cowboy boots, stetsons and pickup trucks?

Just thinking back to the shows 'Dallas' and 'Dynasty' and how we all drooled over the fancy (and huge) houses, big cars, bigger hair and shoulder pads/sequins! The lifestyle was as much a part of the appeal as the story lines!

LittleAbruzzenBear · 08/06/2013 17:43

Definitely makes me want to go to Nashville early. I want big hair and cowboy boots!

GreatGretzky · 08/06/2013 23:34

Early It's definitely made me want to go to Nashville, and I would kill to have hair like Rayna!

fussychica · 09/06/2013 12:16

Watched the Eagles doc last night and there was JD Souther (Watty White) in all his youthful glory strumming away. Aaah those were the days!

Think Nashville looks really nice -I'd love to go.

Bloody love this programme and the fab music - have the albums on constant replayGrin

Earlybird · 09/06/2013 14:52

fussychica - a bit of useless trivia for you: JD Souther's ex wife (her name is Sara and iirc, she is Irish) lives in Nashville, and this is her business:

www.bangcandycompany.com

guineapiglet · 09/06/2013 16:03

Fussy - The Eagles were my guilty pleasure in the 70s - in front of a mirror with a hairbrush, them and Jackson Browne, who I still adore - proud owner of all their albums, and still can be seen rocking away to them in the car < when should be driving with care and attention>.

You get the impression Nashville is a buzzing city, full of musicians and fun and games, and amazing and soulful music, I am very keen to go. I thought the song Gunnar and the band belted out 'Not the only one with a gun' was awesome, really awesome. We have just bought American Heartland album on the strength of it, some golden oldies but a fresh sound - think Gunnar and co could have quite a following if they went on tour....

GreatGretzky · 09/06/2013 23:50

I've been watching some interviews with the cast on Youtube over the weekend, they seem like such a lovely bunch!

Also, people might enjoy from 2001 of Chip doing his best Aerosmith impression. It's brilliant. Though I'm not sure I'll be able to take Deacon seriously after that Grin

Italiangreyhound · 10/06/2013 00:59

Loved to tonight episode. The negative words from Will about the girl at the bar and the getting some other girls number was all a bit obvious and I knew the 'encournter' was coming. Think Gunner handled it all rather well!

Love Gunner.

Will is cute.

Deacon is lovely too.

So glad Deacon and Rayna are together again. I mean he's been pining for years.

Dante Angry hate him! GGGRRR.

Italiangreyhound · 10/06/2013 01:00

Just wanted on catch up.

MayTheOddsBeEverInYourFavour · 10/06/2013 01:31

Love it so much Grin

Guineapiglet that song is called 'gun for a mouth' and its on the 2nd Nashville album or yu can buy it as a single on iTunes. I have both the soundtracks because I love the songs so much Blush

guineapiglet · 10/06/2013 08:43

Ooh thank you for the heads up on the song. We have first soundtack and being nagged non stop for second!!

I think they all have good singing voices and songs/lyrics v professionally done. If you like this country stuff give Brad Paisley a listen...hes done some of the Justified soundtrack, both of which ( prog and music) are utterly brilliant...Tinothy Olyphant is mine......
< goes to buy second soundtrack from anywhere but those tax avoiding scoundrels atamazon>

GreatGretzky · 10/06/2013 12:40

Brad Paisley makes an appearance in the final episode too!
