Crying my eyes out at the black guy sentenced to 170 years. Fucking unreal.

WaynettaSlobsLover · 17/01/2013 21:19

I just can't believe he doesn't get another chance. I'm honestly devastated by it. Pregnancy hormones don't help :(

ImKateandsoismywife · 17/01/2013 21:21

I was just about to start a thread about this, I'm sitting watching like this Shock

BloominMarvellous · 17/01/2013 21:23

They are all so honest!! They admit to probably doing it again if released! I too am sat here like Shock

AnyaKnowIt · 17/01/2013 21:24

I'm also sitting here like Shock

Mynewmoniker · 17/01/2013 21:25

I was wondering if the black guy who killed at 13 should appeal now. Perhaps he's become institutionalised now Hmm

WaynettaSlobsLover · 17/01/2013 21:25

That guy will haunt my dreams. The black guy. Cannot believe how the justice system over there has no leeway for a man sentenced as a 13 year old.

laracroft2001 · 17/01/2013 21:26

Watching also. Fascinating

MimsyBorogroves · 17/01/2013 21:28

Which channel is this on? Would like to see if I can watch on catch up tomorrow.

ChickensHaveNoEyebrows · 17/01/2013 21:28

That guy, Ronald, who commited the double homicide at 13....I just can't get my head around it. Not even an attempt at rehabilitation? At that age? It's just...wow.

bootsycollins · 17/01/2013 21:31

Sir Trevor is a living legend, bless his cottons

WaynettaSlobsLover · 17/01/2013 21:34

Think Ronald is very articulate and copes well in those four walls. Noticed a traditional prayer mat in his room, won't mean anything to anyone but think he is Muslim and that means a lot to me being Muslim too. It is humbling to watch this.

JazzAnnNonMouse · 17/01/2013 21:34

And he seems so rehabilitated... He was only 13 Sad
I can't help but feel sorry for him, I know he killed two old women but that's now 3 lives wasted

OP posts:
JazzAnnNonMouse · 17/01/2013 21:34

I thought he was Kabbalah?

OP posts:
ChickensHaveNoEyebrows · 17/01/2013 21:37

I think he's completely institutionalised. How could he cope outside now? His entire adult life spent alone in a cell. I can't get my head around it.

WaynettaSlobsLover · 17/01/2013 21:41

Why would he be Kabbalah? Whoops lol did I miss a red string on his wrist or a book or something Blush

PPT · 17/01/2013 21:42

What a fantastic programme- Trevor is a great interviewer.

ChickensHaveNoEyebrows · 17/01/2013 21:45

Oh God. I wish I hadn't heard that.

PPT · 17/01/2013 21:53

I missed a bit... what is the big room with all the beds in it?

Growlithe · 17/01/2013 21:58

I did too PPT Do they sleep there? Surely that would be asking for trouble?

PPT · 17/01/2013 21:58

Maybe it was like a day unit?... damn mumsnet for distracting me from the viewing!

Growlithe · 17/01/2013 22:03

Sir Trevor was amazing. As usual the right level of authority mixed with compassion. So much better than the likes of Louis Theroux doing similar who has to prat about trying to be clever.

TheSitChewAceChien · 17/01/2013 22:06

13 is so young to be locked up. so sad. Same age as DD. I can't even begin to think how awful it would be to 'grow up' in a cell.

Trevor is amazing.
Such a calm and respectful voice. Love him.

Did anyone see the cat in the cell of the man with the English wife?
Does it live there? Can it come out when it wants? Where does it go to the toilet?
So many questions...

JazzAnnNonMouse · 17/01/2013 22:09

They mentioned a book on Kabbalah and metaphysics?
Might've just been some light reading though Smile

We have prisoners in who are institutionalised without having a 170 year tarriff, thye just can't cope on the outside at all.
