Watching it on LoveFilm....forgot how bloody good and funny it was. Spike is my hero....

Yes definitely, I did mean the deed! In the most recent one I got for my birthday, Buffy was reunited with Angel and the drawings were very graphic! One particular drawing has a certain Miss Summers being well and truly taken from behind by her old flame . . . . . Grin

Elsqueak · 27/10/2012 08:05

Good lord! I had no idea. Mucky Buffy! Wonder if Sarah Michelle Geller ever saw it! Ha! You can always rely on the Internet to sauce anything up I suppose!

I thought they always did it ( portrayed adult physical relationships) rather well on Buffy without completely making it an 18. It was all suggested and hinted at without being literal. Buffy and Spike's dalliance was wild ( in contrast to her and Angel) but not lurid.

JakeBullet · 27/10/2012 08:23

Am loving the Buffy/Spike dalliance. End of Season 5 was so sad and emotional with Spike just broken up by Buffy's death. Just started Season 6 and am predicting BIG issues with Willow's magical powers. I never saw beyond halfway through Season 5 before so it's all new to me.

Have even gone back and watched the first few episodes of Season 1 too.

Now off to check out the mucky fan fic Wink

Oh yes and the Spike "five words" scene was fab "Out -For-A -Walk....pause.....Bitch". Hilarious stuff.

Just in case there is any confusion, the Buffy season eight comics are not actually fan fiction, most of its written by the writers from the show. Here's a link to find out about it

wintera · 27/10/2012 09:33

Don't read too much about the plot though as it will ruin it for you if you plan to buy it!

wintera · 27/10/2012 09:40

If anyone fancies buying season eight, they are on Amazon here

'I may be love's bitch, but at least I'm man enough to admit it!'

Spike is my favorite, but Giles runs an ever so close second.

Elsqueak · 27/10/2012 10:50

Those look great, Wintera. I would love to read them, especially as Joss wrote them. May be asking Santa for some!
I did get excited when they announced Joss was writing 'Avengers Assemble'. DH, big marvel fan was skeptical. He's always teased me about Buffy. But I sat smugly watching him laugh all the way through it. Also loved what he did with Alien 4!
...Goodness, didn't realise what a Whedon geek I was. Think he writes female characters really well.

picnicbasketcase · 27/10/2012 10:53

I feel like watching Once Mire With Feeling again just to see if I can still remember all the words to the songs Blush

picnicbasketcase · 27/10/2012 10:53

More, not mire. Stupid phone.

Elsqueak · 27/10/2012 11:12

One of the best episodes! Love the songs. What's the one Willow and Tara sing together? It's got a lovely melody. And doesn't Anthony Head have great rock n' roll husky voice. He is ex-west end though isn't he. Saw him in Soho once. Very handsome!

wintera · 27/10/2012 13:16

I urge all of you to watch this video on YouTube. Its a speech Joss gave a few years ago and its one of the best speeches I've ever heard! Loved him all the more after watching it and his Mother sounds wonderful too. Enjoy!

Pleasenomorepeppa · 28/10/2012 00:30

Oooooh, just seen this thread! I love BTVS & Angel.
Haven't seen it for years though.
I'm saving my box set for when DC2 comes along in January, it's going to be my feeding series!
I've got the musical episode on CD & actually got Anthony Heads album too!

Figgygal · 28/10/2012 07:01

Spike seems to be everyone's favourite doesn't he!! I loved how he went at end of buffy it was beautiful though I do think when she said she loved him she meant it. Loved him in last series of angel too he was hilarious!! I have all the buffys on DVD and before that on VHS only have 1,2 and 5 of angel seriously need to rewards.

I looked james marsters up the other day and he is like 50 now!!!! I'm not getting old, I'm not getting old Grin

wintera · 28/10/2012 07:50

At the time there was always some discussion on the net about how old James Marsters was. If I remember correctly he was quite a bit older than the rest of the cast so it makes sense that he is now 50. Charisma Carpenter was a fair bit older than the other girls too I think.

Does anyone else love seeing stories in the paper or on the net of how they are all getting on? Over the summer both Alyson Hannigan and Sarah Michelle Gellar had babies and I was reading the stories thinking Awww that's nice! Ha ha soppy sod! Its especially nice hearing about Alyson Hannigan because she married Alexis Denisof as well of course.

MothershipG · 28/10/2012 08:07

I've just finished re-watching the whole series from start to finish, for the third time I think! This time I had the pleasure of introducing DD to it, fortunately she loved it too or I would have been forced to disown her! Grin

"Once more with feeling" is definitely our fave... 'Bunnies, bunnies, it must be bunnies....or maybe midgets' is an oft heard refrain in this house.

We're half way through the last series of Angel, which is ok, but really not as good.

wintera · 28/10/2012 08:11

How old is your daughter if you don't mind me asking? My daughter is 7 so she is still a bit too young to watch it I think but am excited about the prospect of introducing her to Buffy! Hope she likes it. I'd be gutted if she didn't!

LadyFlumpalot · 28/10/2012 08:15

Oh my! I LOVE Buffy. I have an entire shelf devoted to spin off fiction.

We are all adults here - if anyone fancies an injection of Buffy smut - google TEAOWAS. Warning not safe for work 18+ only.

My favourite episodes were the Hyena one, the doppelgänger ones and the musical one.

Hush scares me badly because it reminds me of the Slenderman stories.

MrsGeologist · 28/10/2012 08:16

LOVE Buffy! Not seen it for ages though. I considered getting the DVD box set a while back, but was put off by reviews saying the quality of a few seasons were really poor.

Spike is the best. Trufax.

LadyFlumpalot · 28/10/2012 08:17

Elsqueak Anthony Head has a little small holding in the next village down from me and is a regular on my train in the mornings. One day I'm going to get up the courage to say hi.

Onemoreforgoodmeasure · 28/10/2012 08:19

We're doing a rewatch too after finding the boxset for £50, on the seond series and have come across an early reference to The Key. Can't wait until Drusilla kicks it, she's so annoying!Interesting to see how Willow develops.

I remember Gollum Ellsqueak, not looking forward to that it was so ewww!

wintera · 28/10/2012 08:28

The Gollum like creature who tried to skin willow was called Gnarl I think. The same guy also played one of the gentleman in Hush.

Figgygal · 28/10/2012 08:35

Favourite episode is the wish from series 3

Anyanka - how do you know that world will be any better than this one?

Giles - because it has to be.

I hated series 4 honestly can't think of one episode I liked off top of my head I wanted to blow up professor Walsh and can't stand Riley either. I was obsessed with buffy back then ....ah those were the days when u could watch an hour long programme without it taking 3.

TheDoctrineOfSnatch · 28/10/2012 08:39

Elsqueak, Tara's song was called "Under your Spell". Willow did little singing as AH didn't want to.

James marsters appeared in Torchwood and got clinchy/fighty with Captain Jack. He was definitely a little older (and more brown haired though)

Joss Whedon was one of the writers of Toy Story as well.
