Eastenders Derek. Spoilers.

Is being written out over Christmas - yippee. Same time as Tanya's wedding to max and my hunch is that Lauren is actually Derek's child.

I agree with those who think the Lauren paternity storyline is unlikely. She probably rescues silly 'vulnerable' Whitney from Joey's clutches, then amid all the fall-out from the revelation of Max's secret which will come to a head at the wedding, she'll end up crying on Joey's shoulder and succumbing to his charms herself.

She's easy on the eye, Lauren. I have a massive girl crush on her appearance.

Agree, Lauren is gorgeous. She's improved a lot, didn't much like her when she started. But she was a right moody cow then, she's got a bit more personality now.

As for Whitney, I wish they'd stop caking on the makeup. She's also pretty but she's starting to look a bit Amy Winehouse with the hair and eyeliner.

Also noticed the other night, Shazza's got great legs! Shame about the hair....

Can anyone enlighten me about Lauren's background. I seem to remember her coming into the series having lived in USA, was it with an older man, and why was she there?

She was in it with the brannings. She then went to USA (so the producers could bring in a new actress in the part) but I cant remember why. I dont think she was with an older man though.

She was in before that - she was the one that caught her dad and Stacey with a video camera, then exposed them on Christmas Day. She then went on to attempt to run her dad over with a car... Then went to prison? Or maybe she asked to be put in to care? And then she went to America and came back, literally and figuratively, a different person.

I think she asked to go into care before america though. I remember tanya going to visit her at the foster home I think.

Tanya took the blame for Lauren over the hit and run. She went to prision for a while. Lauren then confessed and had a 2 year supervision order on her.

The original Lauren went to summer camp in the states (not sure that would happen under a supervision order though!). When she came back she has been expelled for drugs with the boyfriend who also came back with her.
