Here we are, a new home for the second week.

Rafa will be sorely missed.

Could there/will there be more upsets ? If last week is anything to go by, is this years Wimby anyone's for the taking ?

Eek- Tsonga/Rafa, prob Rafa, tbh. Though i would have been pleased if Tsonga had won. Just want the poor bloke to get amatch on Centre!

Lendl is supposed to be going to get him to win a slam. I still say his best bet will be at Flushing Meadows. He clearly, from what we have seen this week, plays better indoors, and a hard court seems to suit him so much better than grass or clay.

He has never been able to control his emotions very well, which lead to the calls from others that he play acts, fair or not.

I don't know what it is, he is clearly good enough to play against the best, and beat them, but it's generally because they are not at their best or injured.

We have this chat every year about the whole mentality of sports being ingrained so young in this country that it's alright just to take part and have a go, rather than win.

Hopefully Lendl can help him to achieve his dream.

Don't get me wrong, I like Ferrer, and if he beats Murray, then I'd like to see him go further.
I just think we can be positive about who we support without denigrating the other player.

IAgassi was another one who was great to watch because he was a fighter, and it was never a foregone conclusion that he would win. Like Edberg, wwho always seemed vulnerable. That's why I never liked watching Sampras, the inevitability of winning.

Raahh - mine are being very unreasonable and needing food, cuddles, help building towers and a nappy change! Times like this I wish for a nanny!

In fact, do you think it is possible to hire one for a fortnight? I am thinking of next year

The current nightmare in our house is that my DDs dvd part of her tv/dvd combo has today decided to stop loading discs.

This is terrible, as the tv is only set up for dvd's anyway.

Guess what I shall have to pop out and buy ?

Note to self, buy seperate tv dvd next time !

Both these quarter finals seem like they could go all the way. Tsonga is currently 6 all.

It's a shame they are on at the same time.

DD2 is covered in chocolate, DD1 is soaking wet playing on th wet trampoine. I have abdicated my responsibilities as a parent until Sunday evening.
