Andy was excellent today , not the least bit boring

MrsVamos · 26/06/2012 22:05

Well, what a fine second day of tennis we had.

Same as you all really, I thought Murray's opponent would put up more of a fight, but there you go. Murray raced through, didn't he !

Roddick is a set down, match to be completed tomorrow.

Of course the main man won, roll on Thursday...Grin

Tomorrow looks to be another good day, that could throw up some more surprises. If anyone is interested in the scheduling etc...go to www.wimbledon.com for the following days play.

Yes, and we may get a little bit of Tsonga thrown in.

He makes me Blush. Tomorrow is supposed to be hot. I may have to email the BBC and Wimby to se if it would be possible that in such heat, could the male players please not wear tops and be provided with tight-fitting shorts. Grin

I'm going to Wimbledon today! Really lucky and got Centre Court tickets in the ballot... first time ever on CC for me. DD is thrilled as Federer (her hero) is first on! she is convinced she will jinx him though. :)

Last time I went, a few years ago, we were lucky enough to see my own fav. Martina Navratilova on No 1 court in the Vet. Doubles, she was lovely, so funny, bantered with the crowd and played some great tennis.

Won't be home till midnight but it will be worth it. Hope you all have a good day watching on TV, and hope any others going in person have a great time this Wimbledon.

SESthebrave · 27/06/2012 08:20

Apples - I'm not Envy at all, honest! Enjoy your day!

Useless - hope DS is better and you get to go

I've downloaded the official Wimbledon app for my iPhone and am quite impressed. I always used to get a blank copy of the draw and enjoy filling in the results but I've not got one this year. At least the app shows the order of play, latest scores and results :)

RaahhfaNadalsmyToyboy · 27/06/2012 10:17

I still had last year's version of the iphone app on my phone- which was a bit confusingGrin

Dh has upgraded it now
I'm not a huge fan of the women, but as it was really 'ladies day'- there wasn't much fanfare about the defending champion. In the days of Navratilova and graf, it was a big deal.

I was disappointed in the Murray match, because it promised a lot, and Davydenko didn't deliver, which made it one sided, and yes, boring. Of course Murray played well, but I don't like his style of play much. And I don't think he should have to be the darling of the media, either- he's there to do a job. I just think a match of this level should have lasted more than an hour and a half (though i doubt Murray is complainingGrin)

I'm hoping today has a match that we can get our teeth into- for the crowds as much as anything. Heather Watson is playing at 11.30- go, Heather! And Kimiko Date- who's in her 40's,I remember her when she first started playing!

uselesslife · 27/06/2012 10:31

DS was fine this morning, so he's gone off to nursery, sis on call for nursery.
And I'm off to Centre Court!
Hope it stays fine, and hope I get to see Djokovic, I have to leave about 5.30-6.
never seen him play before

RaahhfaNadalsmyToyboy · 27/06/2012 10:40

glad to hear ds is better uselesslife- have a fab day (fingers crossed for good weather!)

RaahhfaNadalsmyToyboy · 27/06/2012 11:50

Good start for Watson- her opponent has foot faulted a couple of times- which is quite unusual. (Edberg used to do it a lot, as he stood so close to the baseline to serve). Go Heather!

RaahhfaNadalsmyToyboy · 27/06/2012 12:10

First set Watson!! Well playedGrin

HenriettaChicken · 27/06/2012 12:12

Great set! I like Heather - she seems to suffer so much less from the Britishness of collapsing under pressure than others.

Plus she's so positive in her style of play, and looks like she actually enjoys playing. A bit like Tsonga, really.

CremeEggThief · 27/06/2012 12:15

Well played, Heather! Keep it up!

RaahhfaNadalsmyToyboy · 27/06/2012 12:29

C'mon Heather!!

RaahhfaNadalsmyToyboy · 27/06/2012 12:39

this is a very back and forth set!

HenriettaChicken · 27/06/2012 12:42

I really should stop making comments. I seem to be cursed!

RaahhfaNadalsmyToyboy · 27/06/2012 12:56

Wrap it up, now heather!

CremeEggThief · 27/06/2012 13:01

And she's done it!:)
