has she lost tons of weight or what?

I didn't say she is overweight. I said that I would describe her as fat. Not the same thing at all, not even a reasonably fine distinction.

badtasteflump · 30/04/2012 14:06

Carabos genuinely - what is the difference between 'overweight' and 'fat' then? Confused

For me, fat is when you lose all shape, or when there's lots of you to hold.

My Nain was fat, in the proper, grandma way - lots of boob and hip to cuddle.

My gran was skinny; all bones.

I am curvey (in the wasp-waist sense; not dating ads).

Overweight is when I can't fit into my clothes. Fat (for me) would be when I had to buy lots more clothes in a much bigger size.

GColdtimer · 30/04/2012 14:17

I too am a bit Confused about the difference between overweight and fat. And MadameMessy, nobody on this thread has called her skinny. She isn't fat, she isn't skinny she is just normal.

I think she looks fab. Not everybody had to agree with me on that point. But fat she certainly isn't.

Aboutlastnight · 30/04/2012 14:24

this girl?

She's not fat.

Carabos - are you French?

bibbitybobbitybunny · 30/04/2012 14:25

Carabos - you are being extremely silly.

badtasteflump · 30/04/2012 14:29

If Holly is fat I want to be fat Smile

MadameMessy · 30/04/2012 14:32

Eh twofalls, the clue is in the thread title, she has been called skinny Confused

OrmIrian · 30/04/2012 14:34

I thought she looked absolutely lovely. Just right. Not skinny. How strange this thread is.

ladymariner · 30/04/2012 23:47

Madness......this thread is making me so angry. The girl looks amazing, and thank god she's not some skin and bone waif, I for one am totally sick of these women being held up as some sort of role model. HW looks lovely, not fat, not skinny, but healthy and surely that counts for a lot more than what bloody size she is!!!!!!!

hmc · 01/05/2012 00:02

Holly is not skinny, she is also very definitely not fat. She looks a healthy weight to me. Carabos would undoubtedly think me fat too at 5 ft 8.5 and size 12 - however my total body fat is 20.8% (BUPA health assessment) which makes me ' slimmer' than many women in smaller clothes sizes en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Body_fat_percentage.

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 01/05/2012 00:16

carabos you clearly have serious body issues, you've been spouting this shite all over various threads recently.

Youattheback · 01/05/2012 08:23

skin and bone waif hmm, nor is she a flabby fat chubster.

Not pleasant when people describe other sin such nasty tones, is it? Sad How about we show equal respect for both fatties and skinnies? hmm?

KateSpade · 01/05/2012 08:28

Fat? No! I liked it that she was wearing done colour rather than her usual black celeb juice ensembles!
I was more thinking, her boobs arent actually that big!

She's curvy but gorgeous, you might be skinny, angry poster, but then you might also be really ugly. I know which id rather be!

whitewhitewine · 01/05/2012 11:23

She has a beautiful figure, awlays has done. She has lost weight though, which she didn't need to.

whitewhitewine · 01/05/2012 11:24

always, even.

omydarlin · 01/05/2012 22:40

I would much rather be called overweight than fat - to me overweight means over my natural bmi (could lose a few pounds) fat means obese. Yes this country does have a problem with obesity but I can bet you a tenner that HW is within an acceptable bmi range and healthy weight for her height. In addition to this not every woman of the same weight and height would have an equal distribution of fat ( different body shapes etc). How very odd!

Sarcalogos · 01/05/2012 22:48

We don't help the 'obesity' problem with horrible phrases like 'normalising fat'. What a disgusting and prejudicial thing to say.

And of course holly is neither fat or overweight, anyone with eyes can see that.
