STEPS: On The Road Again?

Why are they finding childcare issues so problematic? Why can't LSL's husband and/or children relocate? Faye, Clare and LSL have enough kids between them to arrange for fantastic support for 2 1/2 months preparation and then the 3 month tour.

Clare's husband seems like a misogynistic dollop; he had a point about the issues that caused her to quit still being the same though. Lee and Ian seems to have supportive partners, the girls not so much - maybe because they have children?

LSL does not come across well on these programmes. I work from home, sometimes with a young child present. She was very unprofessional imho. Do they both work in Dubai?

dd1(6yrs) loves steps (cant remember what posessed me to let her listen in the first place. So I took her to concert at O2. Okay I admit totally spoilt. They were fab, I was too old for them the first time around, but had a really fun time. Suprise suprise clare was the weakest dancer and h the weakest singer, but who cares.
However, this programme is doing in my head. If they want the money then sort the childcare and stop yapping. We all work with some people we dont like but have to be civil too, so learn some manners. But then I have to remember how much is dramatisation to sell the show and add to the bank account.

Yes, they are really milking it for all it's worth aren't they mrsseed. the tension, the drama, childcare issues, weight issues.

I think the show I went to was the night after Belfast. Claire had absolutely NO problems with her voice whatsoever, she sounded fantastic. What a miraculous recovery!

I actually warmed to LSL this episode. I feel like I don't know myself any more

May I be the first to say that Lee, for example, is a twat. Who said that H was the weakest singer? Are you having a laugh? It really is about five minutes of show though without all the bloody recapping.

(and if anyone is wondering why I care about Steps at this ungodly hour, dh has left for work early and woken us all up )

Blimey. Every time they are interviewed it's painful! They sit their looking stoney faced and there's an awkward pause after every question. I know it's the part of the job they dislike the most, but it is still a vital part of the job - they have to publicise their tour. I can't imagine how much trouble I'd be in if I reacted that way to something I was doing for work. Imagine if I acted like that at parent's evening!

Also - as much as I love Claire - it's a bit much to complain about being asked questions about her weight and fitness. She has spent the last couple of years selling the story of her weight battles and making programmes about it, so she has made it a fair game subject.

It was really awkward when she was being asked about her fitness for the tour and wasn't surprised that she was put out and refused to answer. I was waiting for the others to laugh and say 'don't be silly - Claire is doing great' and give her some support, but they just sat there and let her defend herself. Horrible.

They need to sort their shit out. Divaish and rude; they should have the media training to deflect questions with more charm. Questions I would like journalists to ask:
To LSL: Claire is the best singer, why don't you want her to sing?
To LSL: What's the deal with Dubai?
To Claire: Is that a mumsnet scarf? Let me see your feet (to check for Soap and Glory buffer usage).
To Faye: Are you happy now?
To Lee:

To H/Ian: What did the letter say?

Claire ( National Treasure in the making?) has made a living off losing and gaining weight and so I agree it is a fair game subject. Good point about lack of support from bandmates.

Looking forward to Episode 4/6 - LSL gets cross (again).

Yep we had a 'just let me finish' directed to the manager.

Faye said that she was going to have a baby this year but put it on hold because of the tout etc.

I watch to see how bitter LSL is too. Next week they are back at the venue where they had their last concert before Claire and H quit. The bitterometer is going to go through the roof.

LSL is indeed still bitter but what was with the bus hooha , Its not good enough dont you know who i am I dont know how much of the eyelash fluttering i can cope with , Its soo dramatic DD is a huge fan she was 8 first time round even she laughs of the drama of it all now , its actually quite funny Living tv have really done well with the OTTness of it all , I had visions of somebody having to winch them up when the lifts were not working or H waving out shouting help help .

no they got a new one with beds in it , but they then flew to ireland dan wotton the guy who does the showbiz bit on Daybreak was having a spat with clare on twitter , it was Fab he almost said OH FFS STEPS get over yourselves but said something along the lines of you dont look liek you are enjoying it maybe its the editing ,

I (sadly) love this series too - my friend's daughter was the sobbing 5ft 2 dancer in episode 1. I also think LSL will explode with inner rage at some point; seriously looking forward to tomorrow's ep, it'll set me up for my return to work after a week's break :(

The costumes they chose for Claire were inexplicable. Jesus Christ, it's like they tried to make her look as fat as possible.
