Hetero, I've long since abandonned the idea that this programme is in any way about travellers. It's about a bunch of people acting up and showing off to the camera who also happen to be travellers.

I really hope it isn't representative of 99% of the traveller culture and tradition

Poor horses were running weird. Probably scared of the beeping cars up their arses. Felt sorry for little chloe though.

I thought that Single, it was horrible viewing.

I thought the travellers and Romanys were different people ? .

Theses are supposed to be travellers , I think .

I also suspect the program is edited to give a certain impression.

i am a irish traveller and have also reported this programe, it is a disgrace that needs to be taken off air.

Yes they have been willingly filmed.
No they are not Romani gypsies, they are Irish Gyspies.

My point is that relations between Traveller and settled populations are hard enough as it is, without this kind of ill thought sensationalism to make the divide even deeper.

I live on a traveller site,and i would honestly have to say that i see a lot worse daily.Of course this does not tar everybody with the same brush. People are individuals but i can only comment on what i see.

I had to go and do stuff whilst those horses were being run on those roads.
I said on the other thread that there was a brilliant blog post by a Romany who complained about this programme.
Lots of things being put forward as 'gypsy ways' which are horrifying Gypsys.

I watch the programme in the same way as I watch anything about orthodox Jewish communities etc. I enjoy learning about people I dont mix with.

This one has always had an exploitative edge to it though. At least there is less of the diddly dee music in this series.

That bit with the young woman sitting there with no lecky or water is what i want to know more about - I have seen enough sticky out dresses.

Felt so sorry for the horses, that part was horrible.. When the car went up onto the pavement, it looked like it was going to shunt into the back of the carriage bit!
Was horrible whipping them too. Poor things :(
