Anyone watching?

They obviously think it is going to be so easy!

EightiesChick · 15/02/2012 20:12

Yes. My DH is already muttering angrily. They have, of course, picked three total idiots. At least it might highlight the fact that nursery work is not unskilled and you do need to train to do it well.

RitaMorgan · 15/02/2012 20:13

It seems massively pointless to me. Would some random blokes be good at wrangling large groups of toddlers with no experience/training? No suprise that they're not.

EightiesChick · 15/02/2012 20:14

'I hope I haven't let down all the dads in the UK by making myself look useless'. TOO LATE.

bouncychair · 15/02/2012 20:14

They might have got more from it if they had been looking after their own children full time for a week.

magicOC · 15/02/2012 20:15

I'm soooo looking forward to seeing how they cope with the sh nappies Grin. The start of the programme showed some funny faces Grin

Rita agree. I suppose it makes a change from the endless stream of programmes focused on getting women to improve themselves. But it is a huge caricature.

RitaMorgan · 15/02/2012 20:16

I'm qualified and have many years experience in childcare, but still going into a nursery you aren't familiar with and doing story time with a group of children you've never met before isn't easy.

EightiesChick · 15/02/2012 20:17

Wonder if the parents at the nursery got told their kids were having these buffons inflicted upon them?

magicOC · 15/02/2012 20:17

Rita the problem with a lot of guys is THEY KNOW everything anyway so childcare is a breeze.

Oh how wrong they are and how stupid are they gonna look.Wink

NeverKnowinglyUnderstood · 15/02/2012 20:17

it is annoying me. So bad, they have set them up to fail.

BertieBotts · 15/02/2012 20:17

Just tuned in. Why is he being described as a reluctant new dad??

RitaMorgan · 15/02/2012 20:17

I would be really unhappy if this was my child's nursery.

KenDoddsDadsDog · 15/02/2012 20:17

The guy who says he wants to put kids in a microwave. Knobber.

EightiesChick · 15/02/2012 20:18

Absolutely, Rita. And they are going to dislike it because with a crowd of kids they don't know, there isn't the chance of the moments of love they would (hopefully) have with their own child.

Aerobreaking · 15/02/2012 20:19

Why is he doing 12 toddlers on his own? Presumably normally staff aren't in e room on their own?

EightiesChick · 15/02/2012 20:19

Viewers around the country will be offering to do the ball-chopping for you, mate.

Jux · 15/02/2012 20:22

This is soooo funny

GColdtimer · 15/02/2012 20:22

To be honest I would struggle trying to get a roomful of toddlers to have a nap. I think this is a bit of s stupid concept. As so one else said, it would have been better to be looking after their own children for a week.

Aerobreaking · 15/02/2012 20:22

Arf at Stefan singing libera me as a lullaby!

Jux · 15/02/2012 20:24

Yes, tha t was hilarious Aero

BackPackBackPack · 15/02/2012 20:26

Stefan is a bit of a knobber.

I would not be happy at all if it was my DD's nursery.

BertieBotts · 15/02/2012 20:26

Argh. This is really annoying me. I might have to turn off.

Jux · 15/02/2012 20:27

"it's not how you'd react with an adult is it?" Arf arf

BertieBotts · 15/02/2012 20:28

No, I would hate to think my DS had been left crying because someone had been drafted in who wasn't prepared to follow the nursery's policy on behaviour management. I know a one off isn't going to damage them forever but it's the principle, really.
