OP posts:

Was just thinking let her get up... Go with gravity surely?

allnightlong · 08/02/2012 21:26

Am I the only person that would rather a C section rather than forceps?
They seem to threaten them a lot on this program, I always (irrationally) want to shout RUN at them. Blush

PMSL at "aww I know luv" bet she is having flashbacks. Grin

Charlotteperkins · 08/02/2012 21:26

Forceps in theatre?

StarlightDicKenzie · 08/02/2012 21:26

I'd go for CS at this point. Epi already in.

hellsbells76 · 08/02/2012 21:27

they'd want her in theatre for forceps in case it doesn't work and they have to go for a c/s. she's on synto then - that'll explain the cannula.

NotnOtter · 08/02/2012 21:27

Mrs devere i meant the veiled comment about 'corridor'

thedogwalker · 08/02/2012 21:27

Sometimes they are too quick to intervene. Let nature take its course

RubyLovesMayMay · 08/02/2012 21:27

Dont hold your breath though AmberLeaf eh?

NotnOtter · 08/02/2012 21:27

she looks big

Snowboarder · 08/02/2012 21:27

No allnight , I would choose a CS too

AmberLeaf · 08/02/2012 21:28

Strandedbear dont think it will happen!

MrsD I thought that too re his EXW! that may have stung a bit!

KenDoddsDadsDog · 08/02/2012 21:28

Ah right. I had forceps in the delivery room.

ilovesprouts · 08/02/2012 21:28

Antediluvian · 08/02/2012 21:28

I didn't go to theatre for forceps...they had the doors open ready for me to go for a CS but then Doc decided DS had to come out NOW...hence the forceps.

CarrieInAnotherTWOBabiTWINS · 08/02/2012 21:28

why are they always laying down!

Dotty342kids · 08/02/2012 21:29

they've obviously edited a lot out as we seemed to go from her being admitted, to pushing, with nothing in between! Hope for her sake they just get on and help that baby out now.

pigleychez · 08/02/2012 21:29

is she the Shoulder Dystosia lady? That was me 3.5 years ago.

It actually feels quite scary to watch it as I was so out of it that i dont really remember much of what happened at the time. Poor DH does and has some horrid memories... but lots of lovely ones too. :)

AmberLeaf · 08/02/2012 21:29

I wont Ruby !

StarlightDicKenzie · 08/02/2012 21:29

Hells, how you know she's on synto?

You alright working?

ShowOfUmblestAnds · 08/02/2012 21:30

I was taken down the corridor (theatre) for a ventouse attempt. One, because it gave me access to a spinal and two, they knew there was a problem with the baby not descending and were preparing for needing to do more than ventouse iyswim. As it was, dd's heart stopped during the manual rotation attempt (after the ventouse) and they could go straight to emcs, possibly saving dd's life. I know now I have a twist in my pelvis and can't birth vaginally. There was a reason why she wasn't descending and theatre was a very good precaution.

I also had PROM with both dc and speculum examinations up to the point of being in theatre.

VerbalBehaviour · 08/02/2012 21:30

actually was just thinking thank god they do intervene - women like that one with the baby's head not coming down, and like me with dc1, would have died in childbirth hundreds of years ago.

hellsbells76 · 08/02/2012 21:30

depends - if head's really low they might do it in the room, or if it's a real emergency. normally try to get you into theatre though, just in case.

Snowboarder · 08/02/2012 21:30

I once read a terrifying story about forceps, think it's given me a full on phobia. To be fair, it was in the Daily Fail, but still.

When I had forceps with DS it wasn't exactly the nicest experience but it wasn't horrendous (was probably worse after he was born and I bled a lot and was sewn up in theatre for a couple of hours. But the forceps were OK. And so was he).
