It's so weird what they have done. I can't believe it bothers me so much, but it does! They have somehow made a complete fail out of what used to be a really interesting show. Why?
Why is it once a week? And even then I never know when it's on. Why so few contestants? Why did they attempt to copy some aspects of the Aussie show, but conspire to get it all wrong and make it worse than before? They had so much good material to work with, and have messed it up bad.
The Aussie show worked because it was on every day, it had a pattern to each week, and each task had consequences for the next one. Each of the tasks had some drama to it - Mystery box, main ingredient challenge, chef cook off, team competition, losing team elimination contest, etc.
Why couldn't they simply do that? I really don't understand.
The only part of the Aussie one I didn't really like was the Masterclass. Yet the British one feels like just one long boring masterclass! Genius.
I'll shut up now.
