That old man is so sweet and it's so sad. Sad

This reminds me of that vets programme on years ago...same thing but with ermm, vets.

Sparklingbrook · 07/02/2012 22:00

Oh yes Trude Mostue putting the needle all the way through the kitten's neck and out the other side Dancer. Shock

SwedishEdith · 07/02/2012 22:00

I bet there's loads of thieving in hospitals

mousebacon · 07/02/2012 22:00

Agree Priya is not good. Really like Lucy & am so relieved the old man didn't die!

Sparklingbrook · 07/02/2012 22:01

I was waiting for an bit after the credits as a tribute to him. But no. Phew.

mousebacon · 07/02/2012 22:10

Me too sparkling Phew!

TalkingTwins · 07/02/2012 22:19

I also noticed that the women were carrying handbags into all different departments. Its no wonder they get so many bugs spreading in hospitals these days!

Dancergirl · 07/02/2012 22:40

sparklingbrook also joe and Emma who got married then divorced 5 mins later. Joe's now on blue Peter!

Sparklingbrook · 08/02/2012 06:29

I thought Emma was quite high maintenance TBH Dancer. The best one was the one who had all the brothers, he was very easy on the eye......Grin

I noticed the handbags when I was in with mil a couple if weeks ago. It only seems to be the junior doctors.

I was thinking about that vets programme the other day. Whatever happened to trude?

Sparklingbrook · 08/02/2012 06:42

I think she got married to a big rugby player type man had 3 children and went back to Norway was it? Grin

OP posts:
Sparklingbrook · 08/02/2012 06:44

Actually I think she's divorced from him now. Sad

kreecherlivesupstairs · 08/02/2012 07:04

I think if Priya approached me with her pretending to be jolly persona I'd clout her.
I like Amith/Anithd whatever his name is. The lanky one with glasses.

Sparklingbrook · 08/02/2012 07:16

I think I would quite like the doctor treating me in hospital to know how to cook rice and park unaided. Smile

pharmgirl · 08/02/2012 07:24

She (priya) really needs to tie her hair back. A nurse would never be allowed to have it dangling over patients like that.

Sparklingbrook · 08/02/2012 07:26

Yes, agreed pharmgirl. Nobody wants a hairy canula either. Sad

MaryAnnSingleton · 08/02/2012 07:29

the handbag thing was noticeable in the first series. Dr Lucy and Amieth are the best. And Andy too, when he gets more confident.

ggirl · 08/02/2012 07:49

Re the hand bags--Haven't worked with junior docs for yrs but in the past they used to carry round a BNF (drug formulary) and maybe a book on blood levels etc , their purse , mobile . They always had the pockets of their white coats bulging .

Canella · 08/02/2012 09:18

Pharmagirl - I was shouting at the programme "tie your fecking hair up!!!!!".
I had to tie my hair up when I worked in a hospital so that it wasnt even touching my collar so not sure why she's the exception.

GColdtimer · 08/02/2012 10:01

How on earth can someone become a doctor but not know how to cook rice. And all that "i'm kidding" stuff is dreadful.

Really like Lucy, Andy is also sweet.

And you are right about Trude, she married, divorced and is living in Norway. She appeared on the norwegian Strictly according to wikipedia.

Sparklingbrook · 08/02/2012 10:31

How did Priya pass her exams? I take it she didn't leave home to go to University either, she doesn't seem to have much common sense.

OP posts:
Dancergirl · 08/02/2012 11:12

Think you're being a bit hard on Priya. She's been living at home and, from what I can see, has been waited on by her mum. Yes she's made a few mistakes, she's been unlucky taking bloods and her bedside manner isn't great, but I bet she'll improve and turn into a bloody good doctor. I think one of the main points of the programme is to show that after 6 years at med school, you have to LEARN to be a doctor and you can only do that on the job. I bet if you ask top consultants what it was like for them as juniors, I bet they made a fair few mistakes.

Sparklingbrook · 08/02/2012 11:16

Do you think the programme is edited to show her as a bit of an airhead Dancer? Thinking about it they didn't have to show her trying to park or saying she couldn't cook rice, but it didn't look good.

OP posts:
Dancergirl · 08/02/2012 11:22

Yes I think so sparklingbrook, that makes good telly. A friend of ours was on a channel 4 prog last year and you wouldn't believe the editing to show him in a certain light.

GColdtimer · 08/02/2012 11:24

You are probably right dancergirl. What show was your friend on
