I wondered that Hausfrau.

nutcracker · 23/01/2006 14:21

Jesus, dd2 regularly hit's, bites, punches etc.

Dd1 has but knows it is not acceptable. Ds has also but again he knows i won't tolerate it.

Dd2 couldn't give a toss.

Well yes i thought that was OTT too poor thing.

compo · 23/01/2006 14:22

Oh yes, poor little girl being made to sit outside all that time. Why couldn't the aunt have taken her home to bed?

Enid · 23/01/2006 14:22

fighting utterly unacceptable chez Enid

I thought the whole Het thing was outrageous - and not just her parents. The programme was saying that she was using the 'I won't be your friend' tactic because she was an only child, whilst as far as I can see almost every little girl learns that tactic as soon as they are in a group situation. And saying everything she did or didn't do was down to not having siblkings, whislt simultaneously saying that it's personality that counts, and the psych couldn't tell who was what in sibling order. Sloppy, to say the least. And her parents did seem a bit clueless.

nutcracker · 23/01/2006 14:25

Dd2 is the same age as those kids. Just LOL here at what you would all make of us if we'd been on that programme.

Blu · 23/01/2006 14:25

At the hospital, Het was apparantly refusing to leave - but that's what i mean about clueless, the whole family! Of course the aunt should have kept her at home.

yes I thought Het's school tactics were like every other little girl of the same age (dd is a millenium baby). They all do that at 5/6.

I think the mother of James/Bernie was not completely blameless as at one point, she admitted that she had reinvolved the violent bloke with the family (but still a very sad situation).

I too was appalled by William - but you could see he was going to turn out that way a few years ago (I think in one of the programs where they thought he was trying to be the alpha male in the house). As for the program saying they thought he lacked attention, I always got the impression that he got the attention and the twins didn't!

littlemissbossy · 23/01/2006 14:29

In the end I felt quite sorry for William. He clearly only gets attention for being naughty and lives in the shadow of his 'good' brother.
As for James' family... very . Although she loves her children dearly, she obviously doesn't have much of a clue - am I the only one who thinks poor kid, he hasn't got a cat in hells chance?

nutcracker · 23/01/2006 14:32

LOL Cod, the bedrooms are finally done though, well the kids are. Me and my mom did them.

Mo2 · 23/01/2006 14:57

Thought the brothers (Matthew & William?) whoc got on well were so lovely... thought their parents were no nonense, sensible folk too. But do you think there's not much about them because they are just, well, so well-behaved, and seemingly without any major issues????? I also wonder whether the parents (graham? and ??) are wishing they weren't part of the programme now!!

ills · 23/01/2006 14:59

I agree about Het. The parents need to get a grip I mean bringing an aunt over from India to sort out your child. I think they have to high expectations for her. Hope they let this little one learn English sooner.

HRHQueenOfQuelNoel · 23/01/2006 15:00

SHe'll probably improve with the aunt around as hopefully the aunt will actually spend time DOING things with her, instead of only spending time telling her off - she only ever seems to be playing on her own - except for at school.

Lio · 23/01/2006 15:01

dh and I were happily making judgements about the mum and dad of the yorkshire family ? William who beats up the older twin boy. I also through Het was crying at least partly because of not being only child any more, which is completely worth crying about IMO, all that attention for 5 years then kapow...

GDG · 23/01/2006 15:01

ills - I'll say! Her mother said 'I want to make her an astronaut - so she stands out from everyone else'. Hmm.....

GDG · 23/01/2006 15:02

Mo2 - matthew and robert. Parents are Catherine adn Graham I think.

God I'm sad.

LIZS · 23/01/2006 15:03

Thought it was odd that Het lived in an extended family but was most often alone. She seemed strangely mature for her age, when she listened to her fatehr talking on the stairs.

Aloha · 23/01/2006 18:29

Thought Het's parents were mad and cruel and felt very, very sorry for her. Did they know a boy was on the way? Was that why they wanted to get rid of their girl? Shocking.
Agree that James's mum obviously loves her children, but is really not up to looking after them at all. She is destroying their chances in life.
