Anyone watching?

I am purely as parts of it was filmed on our road!
I remember seeing the filming location signs, although they were labelled as "Bound" at the time.
No idea about the programme itself - just spotting local sights :)

They are still waiting for the BBC to decide on a second series. Perhaps we should all let the BBC know how much we enjoyed it?

Moln · 06/03/2012 23:09

did harriet get togethr with the vicar?

(i think harriat was mrs brittas DOG)

oh the poor dad at the end - I was expecting it to be the son that something bad happend to

Scotsfairy · 07/03/2012 07:50

Moln She didn't obviously get together with the vicar but he's seen visiting her at home at the end and she lets him in....so I reckon so!

They must be going to make a 2nd series...too many unanswered questions at the end - what's happening with Fran's son? And what about Harriet's son at the end?!

Loved this series, what am I going to watch now Call the Midwife and this have both finished and Masterchef ends this week?! Grin

Housewife2010 · 07/03/2012 09:41

I thought it was absolutely fantastic last night. Especially when Gemma was giving birth in the loo with the gunman outside! I loved it so much. They have to do another series.

Cherrypie32 · 07/03/2012 10:10

This episode was so gripping, great finale. Agree BBC must do more as lots of storylines left hanging.

PanicMode · 07/03/2012 13:17

I was wondering whether they will do a second series based on the women walking towards Gemma as she was leaving the prison just before the credits.... they have to let us know what happens to Frannie and Gemma. And whether the vicar and Harriet get together!

Moln · 07/03/2012 13:26

Fran's son does appear to be on a downward spiral doesn't he. Wonder if it was due to him the granddad' house got broken into and granddad got beaten up, rather than because of the dad in prison?

We NEED a second series!

insancerre · 07/03/2012 13:36

I really enjoyed this series. I hope they make a second.

bacon · 07/03/2012 15:35

Fantastic series, very clever and what we expect from the good BBC.

I disagree there should be no second series, it was left on a perfect pinnicle. Up to your imagination really.

Some very clever writing as the ending was truely perfect.

Moln Fran's son loved the money and accepted the drug culture. With all the cash being thrown at him he could indulge in this lifestyle - I would read into this that he would be the victim of the families involvement as suppliers (which Fran had no consideration for). He was away from the grandads house. Fran was now in the thick of it and just as much in the circle.

Mrsrobertduvall · 07/03/2012 15:43

I have really enjoyed this....great acting and believable story line.
Shame it's over for now.

javo · 08/03/2012 09:47

I loved the finale - the series just got better and better. Watched it with my 2 teen DD's - they were screaming and hiding behind cushions when Gemma was targetted by Andy whilst giving birth and then lol at Harriet jumping the vicar!

Frannie was followed from the airport by a car - so I expect it was that crew (rival criminals?)who burgled the grandad's house. Loved the way the story came full circle about drugs - Frannie's son a potential addict, grandad beaten up - Frannie only caring about checking her money was intact etc.

Think bad future for Harriet's son as a potential radical muslim.Surely Gemma would still be at risk from Andy's long reach if she doesn't do witness protection? No Borgen and now no Prisoners wives - what can I watch??

PrincessPrecious · 08/03/2012 23:58

I loved it. Acting very good and storyline fast paced and excellent. My favourite character is Harriet - she certainly showed hidden depths when she kissed the vicar!!

Agree with you javo Gemma will still be at risk if she doesn't go into witness protection. I went to sleep the other night writing the next series in my imagination with Gavin as a radical Muslim!

Wnder if they will do series 2?

Animation · 09/03/2012 08:34

Oh WOW - Gemma's acting was brilliant there - Emma Rigby she's called - not heard of her before. That guy could have still shot her in the toilet though, but you could really believed she was in full on labour.

And Fran (Polly Walker) - she's a true pro with her facial moods - as she gets pulled further into the thick of it.

Warmed much more to Harriet's character - as she wanted to get a life and all togged up to kiss the vicar ... and he liked it!!

Also liked the music score. Smile

Yes - a classy BBC success!

Flisspaps · 09/03/2012 08:36

Animation Emma Rigby was in Hollyoaks previously and played a character called Hannah who was anorexic, she was thought to be brilliant there too.

Animation · 09/03/2012 09:01

Flisspaps - ooh, so she's quite high profile is she. Should imagine she was very good in that kind of role.

PrincessPrecious · 09/03/2012 18:14

Yes, Emma Rigby an excellent actress I think. But they are all good really, even the actors with smaller parts like the drug dealer who got Lou's son Mason to do the drug delivery on his bike. He was a great mix of threatening and fake charming when he was talking to Mason.

Blondeshavemorefun · 13/03/2012 15:55

really enjoyed this series and finally watched the ending

was fab :) tho didnt get the tattoo?? on harriets son at the end

and be great to have another series

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 13/03/2012 17:16

I think there are lots of unanswered questions, and plot lines left hanging - there's certainly scope for another series, and I hope that the BBC produce it.

FrozenChocolate · 13/03/2012 17:21

How gorgeous was Harriet's drug dealing neighbour??? Phwoar!

Moln · 13/03/2012 20:03

I imagine the tattoo was something to do with being an identification to a gang in prison Blondehsavemorefun

PrincessPrecious · 13/03/2012 22:19

I thought the tattoo was something to do with him joining a gang (possibly a Muslim gang?? as he told Harriet he was converting)

Yes I definitely hope there is another series!

Blondeshavemorefun · 13/03/2012 22:46

oic - knew he said he wanted to be a muslim- but didnt understand the tattoo bit - thanks
