I agree with wintera that Bill's looking better. Or maybe it's that he's more interesting this season.

Eric looks a bit vacant but I suppose that's the way his character is supposed to be. I don't like it. I prefer Eric when he's completely with it.

Jessica always looks gorgeous.

Agreed - Bill's character is way more interesting this year. Good call on the writer's behalf to make him the king. Personally, Eric's hair is too short for me, I prefer it to be longer but he is definitely a very fine specimen of manhood it has to be said. He's just so impressive looking isn't he? Everyone looks better this year and I'm including the women in that too. Funny story - I saw a comment from a teenager on line who was a big Vampire diaries fan. She said she couldn't get into True blood because the cast were so old and ugly! Ha ha lol. Well, I suppose if you are comparing them to the cast of vampire diaries they certainly are older! But ugly? Never!

susiedaisy · 23/02/2012 09:22

I think all the cast are slimmer and slicker this series, almost a bit too polished!

Did anyone else find the scene near the end with Jason and the HotShot women really disturbing? Gotta admit, it turned my stomach to be honest. That was rape pure and simple. If that scene had featured a woman tied up and being made to have sex with all the HotShot men there would be a bloody outcry. Yuck!

Outcry was the wrong phrase to use. I meant the scene would be more controversial if it featured a woman being tied to a bed, drugged and gang raped by a number of horrible inbred types. I mentioned the scene to a friend and she said something like "oh yeah, I suppose it was a rape scene wasn't it?". It hadn't occurred to her that Jason was actually being sexually assaulted against his will which I found interesting. Also apparently the scene was mentioned to Alan Ball recently and he said something like "oh well it's payback for Jason for being such a slut for so many years" or something along those lines. Which I'm sure you will agree is a dodgy argument for showing someone being raped or sexually abused in some way.

Actually it wasn't Alan Ball who said it, it was the director of the episode. He said that Jason gets his comeuppance. I thought it was a strange thing to say under the circumstances. Didn't quite sound right to me.

I'm starting to find all the different story threads a bit hard to follow. I preferred it when it was mainly about Sookeh.
Rape scene with Jason was particularly grim. And I'm kind of missing 'normal' Eric.

susiedaisy · 06/03/2012 20:03

I find the storyline with Arlene and her baby and Sam merlot and his brother a bit boring tbh, and the rape scenes with Jason was rather grim.

FelicityElectricity · 07/03/2012 16:03

yeah they could get rid of a few of those storylines and focus on the good ones. It feels a bit like a soap opera at the moment.
