it's not the editing that's the problem with Strictly, it's the lack thereof. he's SUCH a bore on the live shows, that's all JD.

Just wanted to remind people that it is a "double eviction" next week, so 2 couples will go to leave 3 in the Final.

CeliaChristmasFete · 06/12/2011 07:58

I think Alex and Jason may go - depends on how Holly manages to sell the Charleston. I'm looking forward to their AT, but hope she's improved since the disappointing tango.

Animation · 06/12/2011 09:26

Holly could do Ok, but she must resist wearing the black trousers again.

Think Jason will go - Saturday was a sign that the public are not too keen even when he dances technically quite well.

AvadventKalendar · 06/12/2011 09:35

What dances are they all doing does anybody know?

There must still be a fair few with rumbas to go and they can be dis- ahhhhhhhhhhstrous for scores ;)

Holly doing Charleston, can't see it somehow.

yesbutnobut · 06/12/2011 10:48

Chelsee and Pasha's rumba will be one to watch !

Sounds like a few will have dances that don't suit them next week then. I suspect Chelsee's going to feel very self concious doing the rumba and I can't see Holly allowing herself to be wacky enough to pull off a charleston. Got a feeling that means Holly's for the chop next week along with Alex, though I'd rather Jason went than Holly.

Really enjoyed the show this week and it was a good result, much as I find earnest Jason boring, it wouldn't have been fair if Robbie had stayed (I'm amazed he got this far actually).

Absolutely LOVED Chelsee's jive, her enthusiasm was so infectious and I couldn't stop grinning throughout (mind you, I can't stop grinning when I dance the jive either), even had a few tears (damn those pregnancy hormones) and immediately rewound to watch it again. I've rewatched it a few times over the last few days as it makes me happy :) I've been warming to her more and more as the weeks have gone on, and I really want her to win now. Hope the rumba doesn't hamper her too much.

LadyClariceCannockMonty · 06/12/2011 11:43

I thought Zoe said on ITT last night that Chelsee was doing the American Smooth and the paso? Which, if it's true, may be better for her than the rumba, although after the AS we'd have to endure the judges patronising her about 'Oooh, you amazed me, you CAN be ladylike and elegant' etc etc. I think after Holly's paso she may have found the attitude she needs for the Argentine Tango.

NotJustForClassic, I LOVE your pop-psychology comment about Artem. I think you're right. Smile

yesbutnobut · 06/12/2011 13:40

Yes, you're right LadyC about Chelsee and Pasha doing AS and paso - I mentioned the rumba in response to AK's post about that dance. Sorry to confuse! Her AS will be dreamy I'm sure - Pasha is such a great choreographer.

Absolutely agree about Artem and his hats/masks!! Very well observed.

For me, Jason and Alex to go this week. Jason was clearly shaken last Saturday when he didn't get a standing ovation ... must realise his popularity rating is sinking in the light of more appealing contestants (ie Harry and Chelsee).

LadyClariceCannockMonty · 06/12/2011 14:58

Oh, I see, sorry! So does that mean she'll do a rumba in the final (if she gets there)? I can't remember how it works ? I thought in previous years that by the time they got to the final they'd done all the dances, and they just repeated their favourite ones. Or do they do one new, one favourite, one waltz together with the other couple, and a show dance?
[bit too interested in all this emoticon]

LadyClariceCannockMonty · 06/12/2011 15:36

I don't remember that! Oooh, controversial ...

CeliaChristmasFete · 06/12/2011 16:32

Let's hope and pray the professionals don't cock it up again choreograph something inappropriate for the show dance. I watched Alesha Dixon's show dance on You tube the other day - full of content, the steps that she'd learned throughout the series.

yesbutnobut · 06/12/2011 16:52

You must admit Aliona has been much more conservative this series - so, though she says she doesn't listen to the judges, she obviously does!

ScatterChasse · 06/12/2011 16:58

Hello, I'm a bit late this week!

Jason is dull, although I was giving Kristina the benefit of the doubt. I thought she was upset because the judges had said it was very well choreographed etc. and they still ended up in the bottom two.

What's happened to the Viennese Waltz this year? Is it just going to be all of them together?

AvadventKalendar · 06/12/2011 17:01

There's two show dances that stand out in memory to me, one being Alehsa and Matthew's despite a couple of mistakes at the end -

And Camilla and Tom's despite despising Tom!

oh and of course Lisa Snowdon's for all the wrong reasons!! Actually Holly reminds me of her...

ScatterChasse · 06/12/2011 17:10

She does look very like her sometimes!

I liked (back in the deep dark mists of time before anybody had to do the salsa, let alone the Charleston!). I know he wasn't great, but there is dancing and a story, and I just really enjoyed it!

And Tom's, just because it was so different I think.

AvadventKalendar · 06/12/2011 17:15

Not looks wise, dancing style wise - long, lanky and a bit floppy??

Remember Erin and Colin Jackson? with the ragdoll things? Gives me the heebies thinking about it so not wanting to go find the link!!

LadyClariceCannockMonty · 06/12/2011 17:47

ScatterChasse, I know Kristina was upset, I just meant I think she could have kept it together a bit more. Most of them manage to keep a brave face on until they're knocked out/saved, which is more sporting I think.

Tom's showdance was fantastic. Also Zoe and Ian's (can't find it online Sad), made even more poignant by the fact that they did it when they'd already been knocked out, and it was followed by That Dance from Colin and Erin. Grin

ceebeegeebies · 06/12/2011 20:34

I had forgotten just what an amazing dancer Alesha was - that showdance was amazing! Also, what a fantastic pair of legs she has Xmas Shock

I really hope the showdances actually contain dancing this year rather than just one gymnastic move or lift after another which seems to have become the norm (bah humbug!)

SantasCave · 06/12/2011 21:13

Shock Avadvent we don't use the "D" word around here Wink

Erin will never live that one down!
