From my understanding there is a "set list" that has to be chosen from. It may be that the Pros submit choices at the start.

I had heard that the BBC had, at one stage at least told the Pros that they had to use modern music and use less traditional ballroom songs. Hence why we have Tango's being danced to Queen and Michael Jackson!

not 'it may be'. it is. as a couple of people have said. there was a segment featuring the guy who does the musical arrangements on ITT.

ScatterChasse · 01/12/2011 17:16

Mightn't it be easier to get the rights to the more traditional songs though?

I like the traditional songs so there BBC. Sometimes the more modern songs work, but in my world for a foxtrot, unless it's Cole Porter/Irving Berlin/sung by Frank Sinatra it goes on the 'dubious choice' list, at least until I've seen the dance!

ScatterChasse · 02/12/2011 12:38

I wonder if Robbie will struggle a bit this week, I'm not sure as many people will know his music, which might give them well, me the extra push to vote.

AvadventKalendar · 02/12/2011 12:47

What is his music?

ScatterChasse · 02/12/2011 12:59

Something from Reservoir Dogs, Little Green Bag I think?

Like your Christmas name by the way Xmas Smile

AvadventKalendar · 02/12/2011 13:20

Thank you Blush

I would imagine an awful lot of poeple would recognise the tune, I've never seen that movie but I know it and I doubt people vote on the strength of the song anyway though?

ScatterChasse · 02/12/2011 13:41

I do Blush. Last week I wouldn't have voted for Holly, because her music put me off.

AvadventKalendar · 02/12/2011 13:51

Really? Shock I absolutely loved it! Especially the bent over kicky thing [technical]

Have to admit I hate it when they do a paso/AT/etc to trad/totally way out there music but if the dance was good I would still vote. If I voted Grin I only allow myself to vote for the semi/finals.

ScatterChasse · 02/12/2011 15:57

I don't vote until then either, unless somebody I like does really badly, and shouldn't have done.

I liked the dance, but wasn't keen on the music. I'd never vote just on the music, but if it was between two, the music would have an effect on which I preferred, which is why I generally vote for ballroom over Latin.

AvadventKalendar · 02/12/2011 17:11

I wonder how everybody else votes? Do you just pick your favourite and vote for them regardless or do you genuinely vote for who you thought was best each week, or is there some other criteria you have?

WhoIsThatMaskedWoman · 02/12/2011 19:01

Mmm, just watched Harry's rumba practice footage on ITT, rather looking forward to it. It's a horrible sign of how bad my Inappropriate Feelings for Harry are that not even the revelation that he likes to sing along to Bryan Adams songs has put me off.

Actually I imagine that there won't be much of a weak link on Saturday, but I do still think Holly's going home (unfairly) unless the judges conspire to put her top.

HarrietJones · 03/12/2011 18:06

Just marking my place for later

HarrietJones · 03/12/2011 19:05

Anyone else getting fed up of the cheering /booing? It's distracting me from the dancing.
Teas got a better outfit tonight though!

Luminescence · 03/12/2011 19:06

Tess is doing Morticia tonight? #tesshatedbystylist

CaveMum · 03/12/2011 19:07

Quick step needs a dress :(

CaveMum · 03/12/2011 19:12

Could Ola's trousers be any tighter?!

I thought Robbie's footwork was pretty good, his arms and shoulders were quite iffy at times though.

Poor Pasha! Not quite as sexy with those ears Wink

HarrietJones · 03/12/2011 19:13

Bruce was right , Olas not usually that covered!

WhoIsThatMaskedWoman · 03/12/2011 19:14

I thought the problem with having them both dressed alike and mirroring each other is that it shows up how awful Robbie was out of hold - he was rather less musical than the original Dogs.

sailorsgal · 03/12/2011 19:15

Is this the most clothes Ola has worn. Grin

TeamDamon · 03/12/2011 19:15

Why is Craig so VILE to Robbie all the time? Is it the equivalent of the primary school boys pulling the girls' hair because they fancy them?

CaveMum · 03/12/2011 19:17

Has Ola had a wardrobe malfunction? She kept clasping at the left side of her jacket.

OP posts:
Luminescence · 03/12/2011 19:17

Precisely. Craig fancies Robbie.
