[sweeps into a contra-check]

New thread, mark your places for tonight's show Grin

AitchTwoOh · 22/11/2011 23:57

oooooh yes re paint it black but i think they are very iffy with rights etc, want £20,000 a second, that sort of thing.

AndiMac · 23/11/2011 00:20

So, how much is the show fixed? I started wondering this during the Beatles montage with all the celebrities. What if Anita had gone out the week before rather than Audley? Would it have been the Fab Five with just three women in Minis? Or was there a whole other choreograph planned for that eventuality, which I find tough to believe.
I'm honestly just curious, as that did make me wonder. Still love the show.

ScatterChasse · 23/11/2011 00:28

I would guess they have the basic choreography sorted out in advance, and then tweak it over that week. Confused

All very close to the wire! But I suppose the celebs won't learn the routine until they need to know it.

There were originally five Beatles I suppose...

TheHumancatapult · 23/11/2011 08:08

Guess when they are paring dancers with celebs . They must gave least some idea who has a chance and who does not have a cat in hell

ScatterChasse · 23/11/2011 08:25

Anton and Flavia

CeliaFate · 23/11/2011 11:27

The Strictly Christmas line up has been revealed. Underwhelmed, darling. Sad

TheHumancatapult · 23/11/2011 11:47

hmm they really dont like Anton . but then vincert is dancin g so will watch for that as is Ian

HarrietJones · 23/11/2011 12:05

No one there I'm particularly interested in :(

LadyClariceCannockMonty · 23/11/2011 12:11

Yawn. Didn't ex-contestants use to come back for the Xmas special? That's much more interesting than arbitrary non slebs.

yesbutnobut · 23/11/2011 12:25

Mark Foster on the tour - how random is that? Can't believe Russell Grant isn't available (unless he's signed up for pantomime I suppose). Harry, Anita, Robbie, Jason, Chelsee are definites so should be good - but so would Rory (bring him back!). Holly probably can't be bothered.

I agree with posters who don't like Jason - I think he's overrated - but it's great to see Christina getting her moment of glory, she's fab.

ScatterChasse · 23/11/2011 12:28

I thought the one in the middle was from Dragons' Den...

I've only heard of Su Pollard. I liked the old contestants too. Although wasn't there a bit of a mess up last time when they gave four of them 40, and then Len had to re-rank them?

CeliaFate · 23/11/2011 12:32

I did too, Scatter! I can't stand Su Pollard. Surely they could have got more well known names who are currently famous for something?

TheHumancatapult · 23/11/2011 12:41

oo how do we find out about the tour ?

WhoIsThatMaskedWoman · 23/11/2011 13:32

McGuigan's famous (or was), and the Eastenders and Blue people are famous if you like that sort of thing.

Russell can't do the tour because his knees are knackered, and Holly really doesn't need the money. I'm also Hmm about Mark Foster - I loved him to bits, but honestly the man could not dance a step.

AprilAl · 23/11/2011 13:37

Only just caught up with the weekend's events. Agree with most here that the venue really didn't work. Good result though. He was entertaining, but it was starting to get old. Really glad he didn't outstay his welcome like previous years' "comedy" acts.

Surprised to say I thought Tess actually looked nice - both shows! Shock
Maybe her stylist has been reading this thread and is worried about her future job prospects.

Have to ask...given all the stories about Kara's jealousy, did anyone else think it was rather convenient that Artem was injured and unable to dance in the week he was due to dance the rumba, but was fine again this week? I think it's highly unlikely they'd concoct such a story and if it had been any other dance I wouldn't be suspicious at all, but the rumba? Hmmm Hmm

AvadaKedavra · 23/11/2011 14:40

Happy to see Ian Waite dancing, I do miss the old pros like him, the Cutlers, the Bennetts, Karen Hardy.

Crap Christmas lineup though..

AprilAl, something not too dissimilar crossed my mind too re Artem - back injuries do NOT heal in a week!

Fiderer · 24/11/2011 06:57

Is the tour like the show, i.e. with judging and scores or just exhibition dancing? How long does it on for?

I imagine it would be great fun and although the participants would undoubtedly be nervous, it'd be without the terror of performing in the series.

Am also "underwhelmed, darling" (? CeliaFate) by the Christmas line-up.

CeliaFate · 24/11/2011 08:56

Fiderer, I think the tour is like the show. From what I've read, the judges are more relaxed and have a laugh. I think the audience can vote via mobile phone for their favourite (but may have made that up! Grin)
I've got tickets for the tour, can't wait! (but Mark Foster? Seriously??)

Clayhead · 24/11/2011 20:04

The tour is just like the show - you do vote with your mobiles. It's tremendous fun, all a bit pantomine with Craig doing his villain bit and Len's jokes. We've seen dances from that series just gone as well as previous years. It's nice to see the same dresses too.

We have been three times and enjoyed it loads.

RedBlanket · 24/11/2011 22:46

The tour is brilliant.
Pretty much the same format as the show but a bit more laid-back and they camp it up a lot more.

Which show are you going to?

Longtime · 24/11/2011 22:48

Did anyone else notice Holly singing "Don't you forget about me" to Artem (Russell's leaving dance)? I'm sure it was totally innocent but I'm not sure that Kara would have been overly happy about that.

RedBlanket · 24/11/2011 23:01

The Kara-Holly thing is made up by the DM to perpetuate the sterotype that all women hate each other. It's all nonsense.

TheHumancatapult · 25/11/2011 05:34

I wonder if infact picture of Artemis when he looked fed up and the Daily fail said things bad between him and Kara was infact him trying to hide that he was already suffering with back pain

TheHumancatapult · 25/11/2011 05:36

Artem*

I'm going to look see if can get tickets for the tour , wonder if coming near me

AvadaKedavra · 25/11/2011 08:03

Holly & Artem will be on BBC Breakfast in a while if anyone is interested :)

I read a magazine interview with Holly a week or so ago and she laughed off rumours about Kara being a cow etc and said they had all expected it to happen but she is very happy with her own fella. Maybe this is partly why she always seems a bit laid back? doesn't want to appear too keen in case it fuels the rumourmongers? Or just natural laidback Aussie style, who knows.
