Thank you

oooggs · 30/10/2011 19:56

RESULT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

CaveMum · 30/10/2011 19:58

Anton's voice was dripping with sarcasm there!! Grin

Why on earth do we get bloody Jennifer Grey?! Why not bring back one of the old Pros?! Understandably Karen is doing "red button" stuff but surely Ian Waite or Matthew Cutler, or Darren or Lilia could have been draughted in for a week or two?'

Pan · 30/10/2011 20:00

because the bloody producers couldn't bloody well lose bloody face, could they?? Bloody.

So she's gone at last. It's so weird to see someone in this media age who makes no attempt whatsoever to gush - apart from when she gushes over herself. No self-awareness in evidence at all. Fascinating.

puzzlesum · 30/10/2011 20:05

I can't believe they found a way to kill the buzz of sheer relief that Nancy is finally going. Jennifer Grey? If they were going to pick a random celebrity, why not one of our own previous winners? I have a feeling Kara could be persuaded to appear.

MigratingCoconuts · 30/10/2011 20:05

YYEESSS!!!!

puzzlesum · 30/10/2011 20:06

Btw, one of the best moments of telly in the week - Graham Norton trying to get Nancy to explain what she does for a living.

TheHumancatapult · 30/10/2011 20:06

i must admit i have taken to popping over to digtal spy for the results spoiler .Though must admit i then occasional watch result show to se ethe proffesionals dance and watch the reactions

Pan · 30/10/2011 20:06

JG isn't random - she won the US version. ....which doesn't bode well forthe influence of that show over SCD?

OP posts:
puzzlesum · 30/10/2011 20:09

Sure, I meant random in the sense of random celebrity who's taken part in a SCD-style show. We already have Alesha, can't we send her to the States for a few weeks and keep Len?

Bossybritches22 · 30/10/2011 20:13

puzzlesum agreed about La Diva on Graham Norton.

....loved it when Graham said "ok I'll try one last time" Grin

Thank god the Great British Public have come to their senses.

WhatsWrongWithYou · 30/10/2011 20:17

That was comedy gold - 'hear that, Nancy - she's an office manager?' Grin.
totally lost on Nancyo, of course.

Ariesgirl · 30/10/2011 20:17

I've been thinking about the "appeal" of Nancy and couldn't think of any Grin You get the triers who are funny and charming and appealing - people like John Sargeant. However, Nancy wasn't funny, nor charming, nor likeable; she didn't "give" anything in interviews, she didn't seem liked by her partner. Very strange. I do wish we could rewind a week (or was it two?) and get Rory back.

mumdebump · 30/10/2011 20:18

Missed the show. Who is Jennifer Grey?

Ariesgirl · 30/10/2011 20:21

ShockShockShock Who is Jennifer Grey?

Baby! From Dirty Dancing! And Ferris Bueller too of course.

puzzlesum · 30/10/2011 20:25

Actually one of the more cringey moments in Strictly is whenever one of the truly good celebs has to do the faux-shock-and-modesty routine when they get outstanding comments. The "gosh, lil' ole me, are you sure?" shtick.

This would not have been a problem for Nancy. If she had got 4 10s she probably would have asked where Darcey Bussell was to make it 5.

And yes, the office manager comment was genius. It didn't help that Nancy kept talking about lows when she meant laws, I honestly don't think Graham Norton had any idea what she was banging on about.

mumdebump · 30/10/2011 20:25

Oh that Jennifer Grey! Grin Is she going to be on the show?

Ariesgirl · 30/10/2011 20:32

Apparently she is going to be a supply judge.

mumdebump · 30/10/2011 20:36

Oh FFS. Can't they get a proper judge? Bad enough when they replaced Arlene with Aleisha.

ScatterChasse · 30/10/2011 20:43

Can't they pull Karen off red button for a week, and put Ian on that? They use them both on ITT, so it wouldn't be that embarrassing.

And I would like to see how Len behaves with another proper ballroom/latin judge there.

But, we have Jennifer Grey instead

puzzlesum · 30/10/2011 20:43

This would actually have been a rather hilarious moment to bring Arlene back.

Skillbo · 30/10/2011 20:44

Well - am glad that Nancy has gone (sounds like I missed something pretty special on Graham Norton) but have to agree with her a little as it felt to me that the judges were being a bit mean for means sake.. ok, she was shit but no need to say it quite so bluntly.. Bruno tonight perfect example "Can she get any worse!" - not nice although very true!

Jennifer Gray has pissed me right off though - other than being in a film and winning DWTS, how is she 'qualified' to be a judge? I do feel they are dumbing things down a treat these days and whilst I will still watch, I find myself picking fault with the show a lot more than I used to - probably just getting old and moany! Ban the props and the silly skits, more actual dancing and can Bruce and Tess bringing in Anton (??) and Claudia in their place - that would make me much happier.

Hope Russells minor op goes ok and he can get back into the swing of it as he wasn't great this week!

CaveMum · 30/10/2011 20:50

Scatter Jennifer is standing in for Len while he works on DWTS. I presum they are coming up to their Final so want Zlen present for extra shows. Plus, he's getting on a bit and perhaps all the flying is getting to him.

ScatterChasse · 30/10/2011 20:53

Oh right. Clearly missed a bit there! I thought it was for Alesha...not entirely sure why.

Still, I would like to see somebody, even for one week, who still does a lot of judging, just to see if they comment on different things.
