I love katie Melua but she just did not have the balls for this song. You expect Shane McGowan to be rough. It's one of those songs that just can't be covered.

Poor Kirsty, she must be revolving in her grave. FGS I can think of lots of people who would have been miles better than Katie - she's so middle of the road and inoffensive. Chrissie Hynde? Annie Lennox? Even KT Tunstall or Joss Stone would have been better.

i saw it & agree she was bad, also i saw her a few weeks ago she was singing somswhere over the rainbow & that was just as bad.

katie melua is the bane of my life. everytime i turn on the tv or rafio she's there with her dead shark-eyes and horrid plasticky tousled hair. it's such a shame cos the proceeds of this abomination go towards the Justice for Kirsty campaign but i couldn't sully my collection with this awful awful rendition. why not just release the original?!

I'm pretty sure that the version which has been re-released is the original ,with Kirsty,and obv KM was standing in and taking the Kirsty part.Please let me be right is all i can say.I dont have any gripe with KM,cant stand her music,but who on earth picked her?

I think Shane was wonderful, and to say that Shane can not sing is hillarious.Shane MacGowan is an incredibly talented singer/songwriter.It is about bloody time people looked past the fact Shane likes a drink and has no teeth and see him for the genius he is.Shane has battled with his drinking for a long time, yet it is Shane's life and he is a full grown man who can look after himself and has made choices he stands by.Too long has Shane been written off as a useless drunk.
