The woman who plays O'Brien also plays Janice in Benidorm. She's been in loads of stuff. She was in Emmerdale for a while too.
And yes the horses. I saw War Horse earlier this year and cried like a baby. So very sad. Both the human and animal losses on both sides.
I too think Daisy might give her widow's pension to Ethel. I know Mrs Hughes is being kind giving her food but she does seem to take every opportunity she can to rub her nose in it, pointing out her situation is all her own fault over and over again. Having an illegitimate child didn't automatically mean the workhouse. My GG grandmother was illegitimate (born 1855) and her mother supported both of them through a number of unpleasant, menial jobs until she married and eventually became a lodging house owner where she and her husband took in commercial travellers and the like. She was lucky I know.
Anyway. I think Edith has become my favourite somehow. I think her helping the injured officers has mellowed her, so much so that she was taken in by the imposter. She doesn't have the spirit that Mary and Sybil have.
And that Richard bloke is a nasty piece of work. I don't trust him an inch!
