I was concerned about O'Brian's button box. what's in it? She said she was just going to get her button box and something dramatic happened.

I think her going to get 'button box' is code for 'I'm going to be nosey and stand at a suitable distance so I can overhear the conversation .'

I think P Gordon is an imposter as the manifestation of what is, apparently, a common mannerism for Patrick C was rather too convenient given Lord G wS saying he didn't believe him. The emannerism hasn't resurfaced at any other moment.

I think the bandage is holding a dressing onto his right cheek, presumably an area of deeper burn which hasn't healed.

Yes you're right - how can he be so blind when Mary's eyes fix on him or a midway point with such warmth and longing.
