Ladies....as we were?

OP posts:
TheFallenMadonna · 24/10/2011 21:24

O'Brown was Rita.

diddl · 24/10/2011 21:26

But if he is the heir, where´s the story heading?

Matthew back to Manchester(?) to be a lawyer?

TheFallenMadonna · 24/10/2011 21:26

O'Brien. Auto correct!

diddl · 24/10/2011 21:27

Didn´t Edith keep any letters from cousin Patrick at all?

So could match the handwriting?

Georgimama · 24/10/2011 21:31

Peter Gordon was a real person who worked with cousin Patrick at the Foreign Office. The question is whether Patrick Gordon is Patrick Crawley or Peter Gordon pretending to be him based on what he learned during their friendship.

Bossybritches22 · 24/10/2011 21:42

hmmmn bit of a contrived coincidence the choosing of Gordon as a surname.

He told Edith he chose it from a Gin bottle, then later said some guff about knowing Peter Gordon very well......

diddl his hands were badly burnt so his hand writing would be different anyway, conveniently.

ScatterChasse · 24/10/2011 21:51

Ooh, which Agatha Christie was that? I vaguely remember it and quite fancy re-reading it now.

I still think it's too convenient... And I know my accent can alter pretty fast, depending who I'm talking to, so I'd have thought a few weeks with predominantly English accents, and posh ones, similar to his own, would have brought that back.

Georgimama · 24/10/2011 21:56

After The Funeral. Is brill.

NorfolkNCovern · 24/10/2011 21:59

Patrick is the Aunt Cora imposter. We need a flowers in glass bowl reference...

LadyHarrietDeSpook · 24/10/2011 22:01

I noticed AITCH never returned. Angry

or JF taken out superinjunction?!

ScatterChasse · 24/10/2011 22:04

Thanks Georgiemama Smile

MarthasHarbour · 24/10/2011 22:04

Evil O'Brien was in Rita Sue and Bob Too, Carson is a bloke and was in everything

LadyMaryCrawley delightful of you to join us, but you have given a mahoosive spoiler in your surname

oo and i never meant that the finger thing was masonic, only that it could be mason-esque. but yes a quirky trait of Patrick's was kind of where i was going with that

ThePsychicSatsuma · 24/10/2011 22:06

he's real.

do you think then M will marry Mary, they'll get downton?

I think not. howabout...

Lord Richie Rich gets flu + dies after marrying Mary
she gets the other house.
Marries Matthew and they live there
Edith marries titanic, inherits
then Matthew uses his legal skills to prove he aint the heir...
meaning M & M have 2 massive houses

schroeder · 24/10/2011 22:06

Not Carson, Carson is a man, do you mean O'Brian?

LadyHarrietDeSpook · 24/10/2011 22:06

Her name's already Crawley. remember? Wink

they're kissing cousins...

ThePsychicSatsuma · 24/10/2011 22:07

sybil wont elope, she's too wet.

or pickle will get flu/die. she'll become a nun or sommink

ThePsychicSatsuma · 24/10/2011 22:09

maybe Sir Rich will punch mary and lord 6 will witness, then challenge him to a duel on the gravel driveway, just as the bullet is about to tear open lord 6's windpipe Bates limps in front of him and takes it.
Anna falls to knees and screams

MarthasHarbour · 24/10/2011 22:14

georgie and scatterchasse i just looked up After the Funeral on amazon. This is the description:

'The master of a Victorian mansion dies suddenly ? and his sister is convinced it was murder?.When Cora is savagely murdered with a hatchet, the extraordinary remark she made the previous day at her brother Richard?s funeral suddenly takes on a chilling significance. At the reading of Richard?s will, Cora was clearly heard to say: ?It?s been hushed up very nicely, hasn?t it?But he was murdered, wasn?t he??In desperation, the family solicitor turns to Hercule Poirot to unravel the mystery.'

Cora? CORA!!

schroeder · 24/10/2011 22:17

Then a spaceship crash lands on the lawn and Branson jumps out with white hair flying-he's been to the future and he and sybills 'Kids are in trouble'

NorfolkNCovern · 24/10/2011 22:19

Aunt Cora no less (wouldn't Patrick be her nephew?)

ThePsychicSatsuma · 24/10/2011 22:20

howabouts...

Lavinia and Sir Rich are caught flagrante delicto thus leave, scandalised for london city where such behaviour is the norm
Mary, traumatised with turkish-nightmares, sleepwalks into Matthew's room and clambers on top, arousing little matthew and unconsciously creating an heir
they become engaged, and quietly marry
Violet discovers lord 6 and jane kissing on the billiard table, threatens him with exposure, he reluctantly fires her, meaning mrs Hughes can re-hire Ethel

Bates and Anna leave to open massage parlour in rippon, but police catch up with them, both arrested for murder of Mrs ex-Bates
Sybil nurses poor pickle who catches flu and dies, she becomes a nun
cora gets flu, but isobel returns and nurses her back to health, thus winning gratitude from her
O'Brien implicated too in murder of mrs bates as her correspondance discovered at the murder scene, cora fires her. Ethel made cora's lady's maid

Bossybritches22 · 24/10/2011 23:02

Marvellous.....sack JF

Psychic can lead the editorial team at MN for the next series.

FearfulYank · 25/10/2011 02:21

So there's possibly an imposter? Wth? Why wouldn't they recognize him?

Georgimama · 25/10/2011 07:16

Poor Yank.

Burned, horribly burned at Passchendaele. Convenient eh? Plus an even more convenient dose of amnesia which accounts for his failure to resurface before now.

Avantia · 25/10/2011 08:16

oh blimey ! Can'y keep up with all this !

I think they flog the place to the National Trust .
