I've got high hopes for Holly, Harry and possible Lulu.

Good god have you lot lost all sense?

Really?

Honestly you are excited about this?

Weird Grin

CaveMum · 11/09/2011 18:28

Ah go on twotest, you know you want to pull on something sparkly and Cha Cha Cha around the room with us Grin

I'm watching the launch show again and am Shock at how few of the celebs seem to be able to walk in time to the beat!

Roll on Friday 30 September!

motherinferior · 11/09/2011 18:29

Nancy has distinct car-crash potential, doesn't she. In this as in so much else, rivetting yet incredibly distressing.

The Incredibly Heterosexual Jason is already getting on my wick.

motherinferior · 11/09/2011 18:30

While Russell, very surprisingly has charm. I slightly wonder if he started off as an All Round Entertainer and therefore will have had a bit of training and/or talent? Lulu ditto. (I rather like her. But will agree to be in a minority.)

twotesttickles · 11/09/2011 18:31

Sparkly sounds like it would end up with a sweaty twotesttickles Grin

Pan · 11/09/2011 18:32

yes Russel seemed to pick stuff up v. quickly.

Still Hmm at Nancy and her Sophia Loren ref.

motherinferior · 11/09/2011 18:35

I know. It was in its way quite, quite wonderful.

annaje · 11/09/2011 19:17

I do feel sorry for Flavia - after Paul Daniels last year (if memory serves) and now Russell (although, he seems sweet). Is anyone else Hmm about Artem getting another 'good one' - I do like him, but it is normally quite obvious that last years winner gets a 'dud' the next time round!!

annaje · 11/09/2011 19:18

Sorry - just realised Flavia had Jimmy Mistry last year I think

CeliaFate · 11/09/2011 19:19

Flavia danced with Jimmi Mistri last year, Ola was lumbered with Paul Daniels Grin. I reckon Flavs will be in for a while with Russell - comedy value!

I like Anita too. Did you see Brian May mouth "I'm happy with that" when she was partnered with Robin? I think she'll do well with him.

Oh and Lulu and Brendan - clearly rehearsed up to the nines! It's telly, remember - this is all not quite as 'spontaneous' as they make out!

motherinferior · 11/09/2011 19:43

The possible day when I find myself fancying Russell, however, is the day I shoot myself.

Am in agreement with most of the above - although I particularly love Russel and Harry McFly so far.

Has anybody paid any thought as to the cringeworthy monikers the couples will create for themselves?

Nan-ton?

Vincwina?

somebody help me out here.

Pan · 11/09/2011 19:53

yes MI - first thought was hmmmm that's cheeky! 2nd thought was 'hmmm...assault charge, humiliation, insurance etc' - not a chance was it without agreement.

I was at do where Darren and Lilya were performing and Lilya was doing her twisty, sexy thing about an arms length from my seat.( she stuns in RL). But that's another long and self-indulgent story......

So what happened was...Grin

shuffleballchange · 11/09/2011 20:13

I'm so happy. Dan Lobb AND my schoolgirl crush, Jason Donovan.

bebeballroom · 11/09/2011 20:33

I think I'm in the minority liking Lulu camp (for now) but that is because I have fond childhood memories of seeing her in panto.

Bit cross that Artem has got a possible 'good one' again. I suppose the argument is they are paired up on suitabilty not ability grounds. Isn't it all supposed to be on height compatibility etc? Hmm

I have no idea who Dan Lobb is! Blush But I am very chuffed with Hottie Harry from McFly! :o

scarletfingernail · 11/09/2011 20:42

I love Strictly, at last something to watch on a Saturday night again.

I do think that they must have all worked out who their partners were beforehand. Given that they all ended up with their dance partner for the final moves and pose in the group dance at the very end of the launch show it must've been pretty obvious from when they were in training. Hence the Lulu/Brendan panto performance.

I still wish Alesha would go away. And Bruce. And Lulu. I also wish they would bring back Ian. I still miss him.

Pan · 11/09/2011 20:51

Cue lots of stage-managed tantrums between Brendan and Lulu. Bit like watching all-in wrestling on ITV with Mick McManus.

BonzoDooDah · 11/09/2011 21:26

Love that someone else thought Dolly was in a chicken suit.

Anita seemed really nice - and I too thought it was Katherine Tate for a moment or two!

Never particularly liked Russell but he seems like he'll be a laugh and genuine.

Trying desperately to get DD(4) interested so we can have family Strictly Nights from now on Grin ... but how am I going to wait three weeks !??

aristocat · 11/09/2011 21:40

::waves to mate Bonzo::

we lurve SCD too, DD likes all the pretty dresses and we were surprised that Anita seemed lovely too .... ewww at Nancy Shock

ceebeegeebies · 11/09/2011 22:07

Scarlet I was just going to post about what a coincidence it was that at the end of the group dance the choreography resulted in them all ending up dancing with their eventual partners Hmm

stardustn · 11/09/2011 22:35

I'm also very excited about Strictly :D
And I'm also not a fan on Lulu, I'm not keen on Brendan but felt sorry for him after Lulu's reaction!
