Hello all, I'm late to the party as usual!

I thought Anton might be in with a squeak this year but having seen the group dance - OMG! the woman is a klutz!

My dance teacher always says you can tell if someone can dance by the way they walk, and Nancy does not walk well!

Can't wait for it all to start in earnest, do we know what dances they have to start with? IMO they should always start with Waltz and Cha Cha Cha as they are the easiest (if you can call it that!). If nothing else the timing is the easiest to pick up.

I just read upthread that Claudia isn't doing ITT anymore. I am distraught . Also I hardly knew any of the celebs and was a bit downhearted about the whole thing last night. Plus I wish Bruce would go. The same old same old jokes are tiring now.

I enjoyed the launch. Don't want to get too serious, but I really hate these 'I dislike so-and-so because... so lets get him/her out' campaigns. The reason I like Strictly is that there is nothing really in it for anyone except the pleasure of learning a skill - I know they get more publicity if they stay in longer and it could lead to offers, but for most of them it doesn't. THere is no expectation of life-changing. This means I'd like judgements ot be made about their ability and hard work, not whether you have liked them in the past! So lay off, OK?

Cave mum - agree with you about Nancy. I think she looks very clunky on the dance floor. I read somewhere that she asked the wardrobe dept if she could dance in her Louboutins. They said no due to H&S reasons, but she insisted they add an extra 2 inches to her dance shoes. I think she is putting style over ability to balance. Sure she might be able to totter down the street in 4 inch heels, but it is very different trying to master a cha cha when your balance is off because of your heels. I hope Anton gives her a stern talking too!!!

To be honest the celebs are secondary for me. I watch to see the pros in action, to see how they coax performances from their celebs and how they teach the skills.

brodanbell, x-posts - she must be insane! I dance in 3 inch heels (proper Latin shoes) and that can be bloody hard at times! When I took up ballroom I dropped myself down to 2 inches!

CaveMum - I know. I have 2.5 inch latin shoes and I find it hard - I think you have to have a core of steel (i.e. Flavia's) and then it's not an issue. Something tells me Nancy is going to have a rude awakening come Monday morning!
