Have you ever seen such a decorating disaster, the girl obviously thought she was a budding interior designer. What a way to ruin an Art Deco house.

OP posts:
Twiglett · 30/11/2005 07:54

oh poo .. I didn't see it .. and I love sarah beany too

LadySherlockofLGJ · 30/11/2005 08:04

You love Sarah Beany or you love her Norks ???

Happy Birthday BTW.

clary · 30/11/2005 08:13

this was a repeat wasn't it, IIRC they still haven't sold the house.

nailpolish · 30/11/2005 08:13

yes i saw it. she was right up her own arse! bet she still hasnt sold it.

beautiful house though

wilbur · 30/11/2005 08:29

Yes, I saw that one when it was on before, what a spoilt airhead that girl was, those tiles in the loo were ghastly. I love a bit of girly sparkle, but she was trustafarian, I've-been-to-a-yoga-retreat gone mad. It could have been such a beautiful house, too.

Kittypickle · 30/11/2005 08:32

What a mess of a lovely house. I nearly passed out in shock at the 1k for 32 tiles that would have given me a migraine after a night out.I felt really sorry for the neighbours as well. It is in a very desirable bit of Poole and should have sold very quickly.

noddyholder · 30/11/2005 08:40

I loved the tiles and the upstairs was lovely It was a top spec kitchen but she had totally done it for her taste and not to sell A complete airhead is right

Miaou · 30/11/2005 08:44

Dh and I always cheer whenever anyone says "my vision" because it means it is going to be a glorious disaster

MINNIE1 · 30/11/2005 09:47

The price of the tiles waas what got to me!! That was on sometime last year and when i seen it on the TV i got dp to watch he warned me if i ever do anything like that he would leave me!!

Total done to her own taste..

flamesparrow · 30/11/2005 09:49

I always mean to drive round and see if I can find the place. Such a waste of a beautiful house

nailpolish · 30/11/2005 09:50

but surely when (if) they sold it they wouldnt be selling it furnished?

you have to see through the decor (IMpossible in this house maybe)

and i want to know what happens to all the furnishings then (quite fancy the red chandelier actually!)

NomDePlume · 30/11/2005 09:51

Have they repeated that one AGAIN ? I've sky+'d last nights episode,I'llbe annoyed if it's yet another rehashed 'Revisited' show whereby they show the same programme and just tack and extra 5 mins of Beeny saying 'I told you so' on the end . They've repeated the one with the sisters sooooooooooo many times.

nailpolish · 30/11/2005 09:52

oh so thats why shes always pg? she is just regurgitated over and over

NomDePlume · 30/11/2005 09:52

lol.

flamesparrow · 30/11/2005 09:54

It would take sooooooo much work though to get rid of all the cr*p that you'd have to have piles of extra to spend... although if you were buying that place, you're probably not short of a few pennies anyway

Gizmo · 30/11/2005 09:56

Oooooohhhhh, I wanted to throw my baked potato at her!

Dear G*d she was annoying, and I only saw the last 10 minutes of the programme, when Sarah told her poor (sister was it?) that she was about to lose shedloads of money on the house.

It's just so arrogant, this attitude of: 'of course people will spend £150k more than the house is worth, just to buy a bit of my fantastic vision and style'. Ummmm, no love, they won't, particularly when you have the style of a spoilt six old princess after 4 cans of diet coke!

foxinsocks · 30/11/2005 09:59

NDP, I'm not sure it was even a revisited - I think it was just a plain old repeat! I didn't watch (was watching the Bill) so not 100% sure but it looked exactly the same whenever I turned over!

expatinscotland · 30/11/2005 10:00

IIRC, they never sold the house - shock of the world there, eh? - and one of the sisters still lives in it, waiting for that 'special' buyer who's high as a kite and walking around w/£700,000 in his/her pocket. Yah, right.

Place looked like a brothel and that one sister needs to lay off the peace pipe and nitrous oxide.

NomDePlume · 30/11/2005 10:02

Tell it like it is Expat !

puddle · 30/11/2005 10:03

I liked the kitchen and the upstairs looked great. Beautiful house too. But SO much money! I did laugh at the look of horror when they were told the valuation - The Beany had said from the start they'd be lucky to make £600K.

lucykate · 30/11/2005 10:04

they'll never sell that house, if at that asking price, you're having to find a buyer who has to 'see through the decoration', it just doesn't exist. for what they are asking you would expect to move in and live, not have to re-decorate from top to bottom. i just dream about what it would have looked like it it had been done by someone with better taste, it was a lovely house, she ruined it.

NomDePlume · 30/11/2005 10:05

The bones of the house were stunning, I even liked some of the decor, but overall it was just too much. Those tiles in the downstairs loo looked gorgeous individually but when loads of them were on the wall they just looked revolting, tacky in the extreme

puddle · 30/11/2005 10:06

The living room was a mess, I agree but the upstairs was much plainer and really nicely done I thought.

expatinscotland · 30/11/2005 10:11

That entire downstairs would have to be redecorated. That kitchen looks like something out of a Barbie Dream House. The only person I can see fancying that kind of decor is Jordan, and the house is too far from Essex for her.

NomDePlume · 30/11/2005 10:11

Doesn't Jordan live in Brighton ?
