Who's in? I'm really interested to see what's different in America.

Aw, I thought it might be a freeview one :( Never mind, maybe it will be on 4od or something.

I'll leave you all to it then Grin

jenrendo · 16/06/2011 21:27

Oh, apparently she does...

captainbarnacle · 16/06/2011 21:28

I can't even get freeview - am watching streaming on my laptop on tv catchup website :)

mousymouse · 16/06/2011 21:28

yeah, so glad that I had the dc in nhs hospitals with lovely midwifes. and minimal intervention/medication.

onestepforward · 16/06/2011 21:28

Thought More4 was freeview Bertie?

jenrendo · 16/06/2011 21:29

I am already cross at the Americans (sorry). Might have to change channels.

gailforce1 · 16/06/2011 21:30

Ive got it on freeview. Still at least she didn not look as though she was in agony.

reddaisy · 16/06/2011 21:30

jenrendo - thanks. The music must have drowned that out for me, she reminds me of Sandra Bullock. It is all very clinical.

jenrendo · 16/06/2011 21:31

Yes, clinical that's a good description. Where's the EMOTION?!!!

jenrendo · 16/06/2011 21:32

What is 'Devon' shopping for?!

jenrendo · 16/06/2011 21:33

Oh I see now x

EvenLessNarkyPuffin · 16/06/2011 21:34

I wanted some self indulgent sobby tv as DH is out tonight. It's not. And it's making me - painkiller queen - long for some NCT lady to pop up and talk about hypno birthing and aromatherapy.

reddaisy · 16/06/2011 21:35

Me too EvenLessNarkyPuffin!! And to tell them to move around to get their labours going!

onestepforward · 16/06/2011 21:35

Exactly!

captainbarnacle · 16/06/2011 21:35

Calling any americans here - is this really typical????

reddaisy · 16/06/2011 21:36

They seem to have the epidurals before they experience any real pain as well, not as a last resort.

reddaisy · 16/06/2011 21:37

Narrator is mocking the couple's decision to have a natural birth. 11 hours isn't very long as I found out last time!

captainbarnacle · 16/06/2011 21:37

Oh look - the 'freaky' natural couple....

reddaisy · 16/06/2011 21:38

Although I would have had to laugh if DP had moaned with me when I was having contractions!

reddaisy · 16/06/2011 21:38

They must think our OBEM is barbaric!

captainbarnacle · 16/06/2011 21:38

it's the way they say 'tasha has had her epidural' ... not an epidural. It sounds like everyone has ownership over an epidural. So weird.

Pesha · 16/06/2011 21:39

I wonder how they're going to make a whole series out of this if they are all just going to have epidurals and lie on their beds??

Really hoping it works out for the natural birth mum and it doesn't turn out to be a 'look at crazy mum trying to have natural birth and then crying out for drugs and doing it the "right" way' thing.

mousymouse · 16/06/2011 21:39

they are so refreshingly normal.
apart from the shower thing.

captainbarnacle · 16/06/2011 21:39

reddaisy absolutely! They must be utterly horrified at the screaming and huffing and puffing and not a consultant in sight!!

EvenLessNarkyPuffin · 16/06/2011 21:41

I am Shock at the attitude towards the couple trying to have a natural birth. I think if you asked them for a water birth they'd have you burnt as a witch.
