New thread for 1st June :) Gather round people.

I think the person on the news quiz has a deeper voice if it's who I think you mean. Love the news quiz!

Ah - I think I like her better on TV than radio then.

Eek at being sucked in by Vince.

SuePurblybilt · 01/06/2011 22:32

What's scary is how nice people seem on Dara. Which must tell us all that telly folks are not to be trusted and will edit you with malice, in case any of us are ever tempted to go on Big Brother.

ChippingIn · 01/06/2011 22:33

Bumper - Vincent and Suck in the same sentence is just wrong... urghhh

HouseOfBamboo · 01/06/2011 22:33

It's great isn't it. Shame it's only on once a week, can't find anything else amusing on podcasts at all.

Bumperlicioso · 01/06/2011 22:36

No, the Scottish one is Susan Calman.

I imagine that watching yourself back is a pretty humbling experience.

Greenstocking · 01/06/2011 22:37

Yes, he is the male Lorraine.

I really liked her too!
Sadly, the other contestants are all too busy listening to the sounds of their own voices.

SuePurblybilt · 01/06/2011 22:37

Right, bed. See y'all next week.

ChippingIn · 01/06/2011 22:49

Night Sue

kitkatya · 01/06/2011 22:55

I dont like that track Happy Hour, it annoys me. I liked Ellie though.

HouseOfBamboo · 01/06/2011 22:56

Night all!

Bumper - I think Susan's a regular on News Quiz, but Sarah's made a couple of appearances lately too?

Catmilk · 01/06/2011 23:31

I love it when they have to be creative. Genuinely creative people are rarely satisfied with their ideas, always searching for how it could be improved, endlessly polishing, welcoming advice and criticism, or unafraid to go back to square one when they sense some fundamental problem. Meanwhile the least talented and uncreative minds, epitomised by The Apprentices every series, come up with one half-baked idea or a lame pun that doesn't work, and they are so proud, it's just so perfect, so awesome, it's the New Jesus Of Ideas, no fuck off I'm not changing it, not one little bit, you'll see oh what's that it's crap and I'm fired? Bugger.

Tee2072 · 02/06/2011 06:30

I had to come back and respond to Catmilk!

That's it exactly! I am still not 100% sure what a 'Design Engineer' does, my research seems to indicate some sort of software based design...which is not creative.

As I said up thread I am a creative. A graphic artist. And the only time I get annoyed with changes to my work? Is when the change takes it back to where it was before the customer wanted the change I just made and seems to think they've never had it like 'that' before. Yeah, it looks familiar because that's what it was originally!!!

MinnieBar · 02/06/2011 07:35

I love watching 'You're hired' just for 5 mins to see how they look once they've been labradored - I predict biggest changes for Zoe and crap, forget her name, but the other one Vincent took into the boardroom - both a bit rubbish at doing make-up.

What I want to know is, what do they do the rest of the time in the house?? Most tasks take 2-3 days so how do they pass the time? Are they allowed to go home??

DirtyMartini · 02/06/2011 08:26

Just catching up on thread. DP said last night he thinks Vincent is deeply insecure and I reckon he's right, hence all the heavy reliance on superficial stuff like hair and clothing. Made me feel a bit sorry for him.

Still glad he's gone though - it makes room for other people to makes twats of themselves :) Tom is my favourite at the moment but I don't necessarily think he will win. I think Helen is a bit of a dark horse too.

muminthemiddle · 02/06/2011 12:17

Hi everyone,
Think lord Sugar, Karen and Nick were all giving Vince the vibes to take Jim into the boardroom so sugar could fire him. As it was he too the people he didn't like into the boardroom and paid the price.
Felt sorry for Vince when it showed the clip of Jim basically slagging Vincent off for being all glamour and no content or words to that effect. Love Tom who is the voice of reason and think the woman with the light brown hair, always tied up who was on the "cats" team will do well.

MintyMoo · 02/06/2011 16:08

Tom is clearly the best. He's delish, absolutely delish :) Imagine waking up to that cuteness on your pillow :)

Jim grew on me (do like an Irish accent) but he's waaay too creepy

'four hands are better than two'

Plus I think he's not actually that good, he seemed brilliant at first, he's obviously good at buying and selling BUT his pitch writing was dodgy in week 2 as Alex said and his 'every dog' idea wasn't great yesterday. Jim needs to stick to sales.

xStarGirl · 02/06/2011 16:24

Oooh, I agree, Tom is adorable! I want him to win but doubt he'll skate by with his scatty, mad-inventorness much longer! Sad

Soooo glad rat-faced Vincent is gone. Right from the off, my creep alert was blaring. Creepy, that whole "I'm suuuch a ladies man" thing when I got the distinct impression he was a bit of a chauvinist and didn't have a high opinion of women in general, especially in business. I predicted he'd pick girls to go in with him to the boardroom.

Wanted to stab Glen up for that whole "see their light" thing. Far apart from being horrendous grammar, it just sounded so stupid.

Catmilk · 02/06/2011 17:14

Immediately before JimJams piped up with Everydog, which like totally blew Vince's mind (not just because hunky Jim had said it of course), the female in the car had suggested 'Total Dog.' Which would have been an excellent name with none of the problems of Everydog, probably meaning the team would've won (remember - the winner was CATsize, see their light) had it been possible that Vince had ears for anyone else but Jim.

I also think Sir Alan hasn't got the creative mind to adequately judge these episodes, and the full horror of their creative choices. It's like describing a murder scene to a blind man.

MintyMoo · 02/06/2011 17:32

Totaldog would have been MUCH better. I can't believe Catsize and it's horrific 'see their light' (DP and I both thought see they're light would have been better, or even use 'lite' instead to signify weight!) won.

Their advert made me want to cry. And I actually rocked back and forth during Leontrepeneur's speech. Cringe, cringe and more cringe!

Jim is hunky but he does seem to lack brains, he's all brawn and sexy voice. He probably hypnotises people in to bed... whereas with Tom you'd just want to marry him and pat his head all day long. Plus his babies would be beautiful :)

AND Tom has a super cool surname.

CliffTumble · 02/06/2011 17:43

Tom has a weird bobbing Adam's Apple.

Italiangreyhound · 02/06/2011 17:46

I want Tom to win now. He is lovely and I am sure he would do a good job. Not sure he will win but I hope he does. Zoe is also coming into her own.

Hope Glenn goes next, don't like him!

CliffTumble · 02/06/2011 17:51

Tom isn't going to win. He's too geeky for lord sugar.

Italiangreyhound · 02/06/2011 23:11

Yes CliffTumble I think I tend to agree with you but I think he is nice and I would like him to win. If I were Lord Sugar I would want to go with someone who has ideas and is insightful (Tom - IMHO).
