I think most of the appeal comes from the fact that most of it is filmed 5-10 minutes from my front door and there's always the chance of recognising someone!

It was the pilot for "Totally Essex". It was used to hawk around Production Companies. The original idea for the "Only Way is Essex" show came from Brian "Big Brother, blue contacts" Belo (the black guy in the vid)
The producers went ahead with the show, independently, taking along Amy, Mark, Sam and Kirk for ride (as you can see)

P.s. Doesn't Amy look different with brunette hair?

I love this show!!! I just moved into deepest Essex from the Faces region so can totally relate to it. We once went down to the Players Lounge on queens Road(or whatever its called now) and were amazed at how deep the girls tans were. I'm a bit of a fake tan queen but felt positively albinoesque by comparison....when I had a spray tan in Woodford the lady told me that the secret to their colour is to seal your spray tan off with a sun bed!!!

LOVE living in Essex...think the village where I moved to go a bit of a shock with the way I look....mind you 6 months on I'm starting to tone down a bit I do miss it tho love my new country life out here
