When this comes around to UK tv... if you are thinking of watching it, I just want to say...

DON'T

But Pfft, Lexie and Avery arent related. Lexie is half sister by Dad - if rumours are to be believe Avery is half brother by Mother. I too had heard the rumours of him being a love child of Ellis and Chief

chocolategal · 04/04/2011 18:23

Will be interesting to see what the finale brings. Both Patrick Dempsey & Ellen pompeo have signed new contracts.

smokinaces · 04/04/2011 18:35

was wondering whether the series would work without them - and actually I think it would. I prefer the whole Lexie/Mark thing - was devastated when the writers mucked that up again!!!

Pagwatch · 04/04/2011 18:37

The Scrubs singing episode was bloody genius

PfftTheMagicDragon · 04/04/2011 18:49

smokin' - I know, but they would be too connected for my liking Grin

aaah, see after watching Brookside in the 90s with the incest brother/sister [boak] that feels very far apart!!

Not sure about Avery. part of me likes him, but the other part of me hates him. Like Christina really. And Meredith. And Karev. In fact like every cast member apart from Sloan!!

LaWeasel · 04/04/2011 18:59

I was just trying to decide if it was bad enough to warrant it's own thread.

Yes. Yes it was.

Talking of Buffy, in a way it reminded me of The Body - absolutely amazing episode with no soundtrack at all. Worked fantastically. Big gamble, paid off, helped the atmosphere.

GA musical, absolutely crapped all over the atmosphere. There were little things I thought maybe could have helped. Like if maybe they'd written their own songs, or if it was totally from 1 pov.

If they break up derek and meredith I will not be happy bunny. That is all.

Also if they go on a weird everybody is related bender.

Grin

A lot of them are not very likeable, I find. Shonda seems to have quite the talent for drawing these mildly annoying characters.

I hate Teddy the most (useless character with nothing to do), followed by Arizona (whiny and inconsistent, plus Capshaw is crap). I also dislike Sloan. I did like him at first, but they don't show nearly enough of him with Derek (I think they have great old friend chemistry), and I hate what they are doing with his character.

Aside from the musical part of the episode (although it is tempting to focus on that) I am annoyed at the rest of the episode:

SPOILERS!!!!!

The car crash. Callie is not dead. Disappointment number 1. I did think that she might lose the baby and that her and Arizona would split up, she would get together with Mark. But no. She's fine, the baby is fine, like the crash was nothing. I hate the dramatic stuff where they are all put together again by the end of the episode as if nothing has happened.

I assume that the baby will survive, with no long term problems from such a premature birth. But hey, this is TV!

I thought the mercy interns cam out of the end of s6 interestingly enough for me to like them... but I have never liked Teddy.

I agree she is useless and boring. Her sole purpose seems to be to get in the way of Yang. Hmm

LaWeasel · 04/04/2011 19:06

Actually I reckon jr will have health issues.

They just won't show up until sweeps next year when they need something interesting to add...

compo · 04/04/2011 19:07

Is this Wednesdays the finale of this series then?

PfftTheMagicDragon · 04/04/2011 19:10

Wease - I like the remaining Mercy interns well enough, but none of them are that interesting. I think that they fit in well, once they got the pesky job of killing the annoying ones out of the way. I suppose that they don't spend enough time with them for them to become more interesting.

It will be crappy if they just shoehorn in an Avery related to Mere plot without properly giving him some screentime.

No, it's about half way through.

But the week after is a musical special.

chocolategal · 04/04/2011 19:16

I think there are 3 more episodes after the musical one.

I LOVE sloane! And love him & Lexie together.

Spoiler

I was hoping that Callie was going to die in crash & there would be a bit of a fight for the baby between Arizona & Mark.
Now it's just going to plod along like the crash never happened.

Dare I say that I'm a bit fed up of Derek & Meredeth!? I don't really mind how that ends up!

Christina is/has always been my favourite & I miss the dynamic she had with Burke.

smokinaces · 04/04/2011 19:21

yes chocolate girl, I agree about Meredith/Derek. All dull dull dull now. Christina and Burke were ace - dont think they will be able to replicate that. I love Sloan, and agree, love him and Lexie together.

My favourite was George. Now I dont know. Um. er. Sloan I reckon! Especially topless Grin

chocolategal · 04/04/2011 19:28

I love Greys and just hope Shonda thinks up something to give it its spark back!
I have been rewatching old episodes from season 2 & 3 recently and they are so much better.

My obsession for Greys has been taken over a little by Nikita!

compo · 04/04/2011 19:29

Meredith is a very dull character
I loved Burke too
I love Bailey
alex gets on my wick as did Izzy
couldn't believe they killed off George
I like callie, Arizona, mark, lexie, christina and her hubby

smokinaces · 04/04/2011 19:36

oooh yes, Bailey. Love Bailey.

agree, series 1- 4 or 5 much better.

LaWeasel · 04/04/2011 19:43

washington/burke got fired because he made homophobic comments on set... so I can live with him not being there!

chocolategal · 04/04/2011 19:47

Yeh laweasel not a very nice man Obviously but I did like his character Burke.
The insults were made about TR Knight/George :-(
Reminded me of my favourite ER characters Benton & Romano though.

MrsOtter · 04/04/2011 19:47

I dislike Meridith and am consequently bored by her marriage.

Love Bailey, Torres, Sloane and Lexi and Christena (glad she is back on form) and agree that her marriage to Hunt doesn't live up to her relationship with Burke.

PfftTheMagicDragon · 04/04/2011 20:57

They got rid of Burke because he was a bigot who made homophobic remarks to the guy that played George. (now I have finished my post, realise that Wease and chocolate already posted that!) I liked Burke and since he left, they have been failing to fill his shoes, just crap characters one after another.

I don't like what they have done to Bailey. She used to be a strong character and not they have turned her into a crying woman who does endless monologues.

Bellebelle · 06/04/2011 21:02

I liked the musical episode although I'm glad it was a one off. It did make me laugh when it probably wasn't meant to. I guess it was a way of making yet another episode involving one of their own in a near fatal situation different - "Seattle Grace Mercy Death!" Grin

'The Story' at the end was brilliant, the actress that plays Callie recieved a Tony Award for her performance in Spamalot on Broadway.

Agree that MerDer is very boring now, couldn't care less about them.

Four more episodes left in this series apparently.

anonacfr · 07/04/2011 08:21

I stopped watching at the beginning of this series.
I hated the lack of continuity from last season.

They did a 'thing' between Avery and Yang all of season 6- in season 7 they don't even talk to each other.

Lexie was totally in love with Alex at the end of last season- FF season 7 and they ignore each other. Then she's back in love with Mark and now I hear she's in love with Avery. Before that she was in love with George.
Could she stick to one soulmate per year? That might make her more endearing.
