What do you think of this? And when does it start? Could you stand the wait over the summer, or is it a godsend?

i thought she did a great job, but her accent was a bit slippy. she seemed not to be comfortable with the rebuilding a motorcycle line.

twilight3 · 18/05/2011 13:34

I don't think it's a just a dull coincidence/storytelling weakness that Amy almost loses Rory in most episodes.... There's definitely a theme there... which started since she originally lost him in Cold Blood.. I think it's pretty significant and it'll make sense once we know what's going on

confuddledDOTcom · 18/05/2011 21:19

Just marking my place for when I'm online

HarrietJones · 19/05/2011 19:18

Me too

BertieBotts · 20/05/2011 20:23

Hey, if the apocalypse is meant to be happening at 6ish tomorrow, why haven't they put Doctor Who on at 5.15?? I don't want to miss it! Grin

Cloudbase · 20/05/2011 23:36

For those who can't remember - At the end of season 4, Donna was trapped in the Tardis, while it was imploding inside the Z-Nutrino core of the Dalek Mothership thingy (note my ease with technical language Grin)

As everything was collapsing, she was mystically drawn (with that 'everything goes quiet and we hear two thumpy heartbeats' noise) to the hand in the jar, which started glowing (The Dr had started to regenerate in the previous episode, then decided he didn't want to, and directed the energy into the hand). The hand got knocked over and Donna got flooded with Time Lord regeneration energy (?) at the same time that the second Dr was created - this creating 2 Dr's and the DoctorDonna.

Eh Voila!

TrillianAstra · 20/05/2011 23:37

I don't think the whole world is ending, just some extra-special people are going to be taken to an extra special place.

So hope you are one of the lucky ones who gets to stay and watch Doctor Who!

AitchTwoOh · 21/05/2011 01:14

oooooohooooohooooo have just seen tomorrow's.

HarrietJones · 21/05/2011 18:15

Nearly time!

CaveMum · 21/05/2011 18:45

Throwing a thought out there: if, as has been suggested up thread, Amy is still with the Silence and everything we are seeing is a dream, it makes sense that Rory keeps on dying/nearly dying. If she feels guilty about his death in the last series her mind will be conjuring up ways in which she can save him and redeem herself.

[nods sagely & settles down with a glass of wine]

CaveMum · 21/05/2011 19:29

But, but, but! They CAN'T leave it like that!

BertieBotts · 21/05/2011 19:52

Is everyone else digging out their Muse albums now? Or just me? Grin

Folk · 21/05/2011 19:56

so is it the clone Dr that dies at the beginning of the series? Confused -

NewYorkBellini · 21/05/2011 20:21

what else has the main woman character (not jennifer, t'other older one) been in?

Lythan · 21/05/2011 20:32

Lead Balloon.

Greenshadow · 21/05/2011 20:33

Ooh,good thinking Folk

Lythan · 21/05/2011 20:34

And wasn't that a scary episode? How did little kids cope? I'm a big kid (ok 45) and I was tempted to hide behind the sofa

cardibach · 21/05/2011 20:36

so is it the clone Dr that dies at the beginning of the series? -
Oh my God, Folk, that's genius. Why didn't I think of that? I'd just been asking how that would be resolved!

BertieBotts · 21/05/2011 21:00

DS didn't seem that bothered, though he did come for a cuddle when the snake-head came out!

Folk, I wondered that, but then thought maybe it's too obvious so as to be a red herring? I mean, the clone must either lie, believe himself to be 1103, or actually be that old, so he'd have been running around for 200 years? It would explain the lack of regenerations in those 200 years though.

Ripeberry · 21/05/2011 21:02

Scary Doctor eyes!

OP posts:
AitchTwoOh · 21/05/2011 21:05

surely to god they won't be so obvious as to have the clone be shot? i think it's a blind alley... must be.

Folk · 21/05/2011 21:09

Probably yes - you would all be right who suspect the double bluffing....

cardibach · 21/05/2011 21:10

Aitch it isn't that obvious until someonne points it out! Also why does it have to be not obvious? It's an explanation, several episodes down the line. Don't see a problem with it myself - although it ciould easily be a case of misdirection.

AitchTwoOh · 21/05/2011 21:13

oh, only because the moff (imo) would not want us to be in a position to guess until the very last minute, and this series won't resolve until near enough winter. have no special knowledge, but i think that moffatt will prefer to fuck with our heads for a bit longer, iykwim?

edam · 21/05/2011 21:13

I thought the clone had a normal human lifespan? I'm sure that's what he told Rose - the whole point being that she had a version of the Doctor who would grow old alongside her.
