What do you think of this? And when does it start? Could you stand the wait over the summer, or is it a godsend?

pmsl at the river/doctor timeline

AitchTwoOh · 15/05/2011 11:33

btw why did the timelord distress signal cupboard look like our timelord's tardis? that's a mistake, surely?

MrsDmitriTippensKrushnic · 15/05/2011 12:12

Oh that episode was bloody fantastic. I'm going to have to watch it again this evening, or maybe on iplayer right now just because it was so good. Idris was perfect, and Gaimen is a god. Please, please please let him be persuaded to write another one.

bronze · 15/05/2011 12:19

Next weeks looks terrifying (I am a wuss)

BertieBotts · 15/05/2011 12:28

I don't tend to watch the previews - they give too much away!

I loved every second of last night's episode. DP wasn't keen as he said he thought it was extraneous to the story, and he preferred the pirate one as it had eyepatch lady in! Maybe he was winding me up though Confused

bucaneve · 15/05/2011 14:04

Oh I see teej very interesting!

Yeah the flesh people do look pretty scary, is it just me or does Dr. Who keep getting scarier and scarier, I don't think that daleks and cybermen are nearly as scary as weeping angels, silents, and possibly creepy flesh people!

iamnotsuperwoman · 15/05/2011 14:59

Just had it pointed out to me that Amy's nails and the Doctor's bow-tie alternate from blue to red, just like the positive/negative pregnancy test. Interesting...

WhereYouLeftIt · 15/05/2011 15:01

And Moffat has now made explicit that Timelords can regenerate into different genders -The Corsair was 'herself a couple of times'. Well, that opens up the casting when Matt Smith hangs up his sonic screwdriver.

Do you think Helena Bonham Carter would be interested? Grin

ComeAlongPond · 15/05/2011 18:02

Helena Bonham Carter would made a fabulous Doctor Grin She'd have been perfect for Idris.

That's interesting, iamnotsuperwoman, I'll look out for that.

BertieBotts · 15/05/2011 19:00

Iam - the Doctor's bow tie is red if they are in an episode set in the future, and blue if they are in the past, I think. Or is it the other way around?

AitchTwoOh · 15/05/2011 21:50

can i nominate 'are all people like this... so much bigger on the inside?' line as my favourite of... well certainly of this doctor but possibly of all time?

to have the tardis saying that, completely clarifying the doctor's great love of humanity in one phrase... man, i LOVE it.

RustyBear · 15/05/2011 21:56

Torchwood 4 is rumoured to be airing in July, so that will fill the gap nicely....

AitchTwoOh · 15/05/2011 21:58

is that the american one, then? jane espenson has been blogging a bit about it.

MrsDmitriTippensKrushnic · 15/05/2011 22:14

Torchwood Character profiles and pictures if you're interested (mild spoilers if you don't already know the basic premise of the new series)

RustyBear · 15/05/2011 22:19

Yes, I'm looking forward to Jane Espenson's take on Torchwood...

AitchTwoOh · 15/05/2011 22:24

me too. although the character descriptions on that link do not fill me with confidence. tres americaine.

NerfHerder · 15/05/2011 23:46

Having just seen that- surely River is actually the TARDIS, who finally found a way to make herself flesh?

AitchTwoOh · 16/05/2011 00:32

oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooh

NerfHerder · 16/05/2011 00:33

?Aitch?

AitchTwoOh · 16/05/2011 00:39

as in... good thought nerf. what on earth did you think i meant? Grin

NerfHerder · 16/05/2011 00:48

Not sure.... Grin

But- when you think about it properly, for more than a moment... it doesn't actually stand-up to any scrutiny Sad

NerfHerder · 16/05/2011 00:49

Because- he still has his TARDIS (when meeting River) and she can actually go wherever she wants anyway as the TARDIS...

AitchTwoOh · 16/05/2011 00:51

what if she has a bit of tardis in her, somehow? and she can escape from priz whene'er she wishes.

bronze · 16/05/2011 00:56

The prison that she escapes from. Could that actually be more of a ...mental prison rather than actually be a human behind bars. So in the tardis case being a policebox unable to communijcate fully rather than being human is her prison.
I know what I mean but all the words I'm looking for keep blanking
